First nations on the coast have lived for thousands of years on a very healthy high protein , high omega diet of salmon and other marine life. As the Salmon have become scarcer First Nations have had to adapt to the higher carbohydrate European type of diet. Unfortunately doing so appears to be producing massive rates of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and dental decay. Salmon as a major source of nutrition still means life for First Nations.
Funny how natives are always suckered into supporting the environuts cause by being persuaded the nutters care about First nations. Still taking beads huh ?
Environmental groups and First Nations in BC have finally won the battle to access information on sea lice infestation records which have been kept secret for years. At last people will get to see what the fish farms didn't want them to. Watch for them going into full throttle damage control to cover their butts and then agreeing to switch to closed containment systems.
It is ironic that Vancouver's so called Greenest most Environmental Olympics ever is taking place while the Canadian and Provincial Governments allow an environmental catastrophe to take place. An engineered environmental holocaust which will have massive negative impacts on First nations, every British Columbian and all of the species which depend on salmon for survival
