The US stopped using the OPV- live virus Oral polio vaccine- in 2001, as it was causing polio in immune deficient children. (all cases of polio in the US over the last 20 yrs is from the vaccine)
Now we use the IPV, Inactivated Polio Virus vaccine
She also has a damaged pituitary gland, the neurologist feels is from a viral infection of her spinal fluid. She had steady growth at the 25th percentile before this reaction.
Within 6 months of this reaction, Jade dropped to below the 3rd percentile. She stopped growing.

One can see the danger in Vioxx, while appreciating the benefits of penicillin.

The day of her reaction, the ER doctor assured me it couldn't possibly have anything to do with the vaccinations 2 weeks prior.
We are now considering a lumbar puncture, at the suggestion of her immunologist, neurologist, and infectious disease doctor.
