  • Nothing special here.

Check-out Stewart Copeland to see how it's properly executed.

  • like, does he wants to make pee???

  • Wait. Not Sambas.

  • SAMBAS!

  • I just saw them live last night. They were the band for Matisyahu and threw a concert on Guam. I love Joe Tomino, he's so amazing.

  • honestly, if you listen to a lot of dub trio, you know that joe certainly doesnt overuse his double bass. he didnt use it all on the first album, and only a bit on the second. this is probably the heaviest song on that album, and its the only time he really just goes nuts with double bass. so dont hate. hes not like metal-core style drummers who just play double bass throughout nearly every song. hes conservative about it and only implements it when necessary. much love to joe tomino :)

  • no one like him.

    oh my god.

  • hows using a double kick pedal cheating? its also a way of strengthening the non dominant foot, and id like to see someone play 300 bpms with one foot, even though its not relevant (im a metal drummer), its still not possible with only one pedal. But come on man, be reasonable

  • thats my teachers husband

  • what's his name?

  • LOOK AT THOSE ADIDAS GO

  • don't get me wrong, that was just my opinnion in regards of the drummer... not about the band, as a band they sound better... i just think he plays better when not using double bass drum pedal... besides that, they're a good band!!

  • double bass drum pedal?? that's like cheating!!, drummers that uses double bass drum pedal are the ones that are uncapable of playing properly, u should worry more about learnign how to bounce and use a single pedal before u head for a double one, view Mike Johnston's video "double bass drum on single pedal" now, that's impressive!!... for a propper use of double bass drum listen to thomas lang or johny rabb, the can play their snare solos on bass drum, same accents and everything...

  • @elcucuy138

It's horses for courses man. Not all of us have (or ever will have) the feet of a Lan or a Rabb. It sounds right, it's certainly not cheating, it fits the music, what's the problem?

Very few people could play that fast and solid with one foot. More power to you if you can, but the rest of us mortals will continue to rock the double kick! Use the tools available!

  • @elcucuy138

Anyway, besides all that, Joe is a friggin outstanding drummer. He can play the heavy stuff, the chilled deft stuff and everything in between. I don't think any of us are in a postition to criticise his skills!

  • @elcucuy138 - In drumming there isn't really a "should do this or should do that, when it comes down to it ,drumming and music is an art of expression. Simply playing rapid between ones two feet is done to create a particular desired effect and isnt cheating in the slightest (again sure everyone has their opinion and everyone knows what opinions are like don't yall). I mean you can name off double bass drummers till your blue in the face, donati, grant collins, roddy and the whole rest of them.

  • @elcucuy138 The video you mentioned is completely different from the use it has here. Listen to slayer.

  • Yup these guys Rock For sure

  • Tomino rocks!

  • One of the tightest bands I've ever seen

  • I grew up with Joe here in Cleveland, Ohio. He also gave me drum lessons back in the day. Best drummer EVER!
