I'm not a big fan of the rider at 2:24, it seems like he is pushing the horse too much, and as you can see at 2:34 he yanks on the horses mouth before the jump, and as it's landing he yanks on it again, making it knock the pole down, and the horse didn't look too happy about it, because it was putting its ears back.
@dragonfly1030 I will be buying my tickets this weekend. I will be going on friday, sat, and sun. I have missed the gambler's choice every time but not this time.
I may not have a lot of footage of the whole crew, but the people you see listed in the video description constitute the whole group who competed in that particular event.
i'm really confused... i watched this on animal planet this year on january 10th. they didn't say anything about it being a rerun, so i recorded it and made a video of it. i put 2009 sporthorse cup in the title. so... im wrong? it wasn't the 2009 sporthorse cup?
I know! What were they thinking, putting beezie at the very end of the final round? XD I completely chewed my nails off! They sure know how to keep people watching, I tell ya.
Great video... very fitting song choice aswell!! there were some great riders in that line up... Ben Maher (i know im english so im bias) but i just love how quiet he is with all his horses he makes it look so effortless! xx
Great video as per usual. Im so botherd it consisted of riders from the netherlands but not from belgium though. Aw well guess ill just have to let it be for now then you know im so glad the woman are kicking butt in pretty much every video from over there youve put up so far go girls.
Well with the first videos you put up i noticed something i have seen many times before in the so called top riders that men make dreadfull mistakes with the basics and the woman dint. Im not saying woman are perfect..alright that is what im saying WOMAN ARE SO PERFECT...alright perhaps not but still. To me in higher levels they tend to have much better aproaches and landings they are kinder to the horses and dont make basic errors like losing their two point and leaning on the horse tsk tsk.
Some of the guys were very "handy"--I don't know who the guy was, but one of the male riders on a grey in the Budweiser World Cup Qualifier was painful to watch. His horse was awesome despite how much he was tugging on it. It was so bad that a friend with us who NEVER watched showjumping could see him tugging around on the horse and recognize how it was inhibiting its jumping efforts!
Well correct me if im wrong on this one but to me personally it seems when it comes to showjumping not hunters that when the rider is in the teenage stage if an error is made the boys usually try again very calmly but the girls can get veeeeery ugly beating the poor thing up even though it was their error yet once they pass the age of twenty the men are the rough ones and the woman are the patient once i feel. It seems to me as well people rely much more on tack these days then talent.
Yes so true. I remember at one showjumping event we were holding i was sitting at the entrance helping the announcer you know collecting the riders and horses opening and closing the gates helping them in and out the arena and so on. When we saw one finishing the course and clearly the horse did all the work and at times the rider even worked against the poor thing making it even harder when they came back out of the ring we used to turn around and litteraly say "thank you horse".
Im sure he understands what you mean when you say it and im sure deep down hes silently saying "youre very welcome". Just shows how much you are aware of your own and of his flaws and how much you care for him. Dont ever change.
I love the black horse and rider. I think the rider was the only rider that tried not to jump for their horse! but your sooo lucky you got to go there!
Great video i love ben maher! Cant wait to see more of duncan and clue! Although i bet your weathers still nicer than outs over here in the land of rain... haha
Not really--it's been rainy, and when it's not rainy, it's PAINFULLY cold! My knees can't even handle it! I will be riding in snow pants all winter, or else I'll be too lame to ride!
Ha ha wow were not the only country for once! It rained all day today and i work at a riding stables so i was out in it all day then when i had to exercise a horse, i ended up on the floor twice before deciding it wasnt worth pain and the cold made it hurt so much more! and my poor pony has been ridden only a handful of times these last few weeks, cant wait for spring!
ooops i suck at geography! lol i live in nj too! but ive never seen duncan at the woodedge or duncraven or anything like that. do you guys show at woodedge? how bout duncraven? maybe cjha?
We've only really shown at the shows you see on my account so far...we kept it very local for Dunc's first show season. If I manage to purchase a trailer with my friend, we'll expand our horizons! :)
He's doing well; he's had a lot of time off due to my busy work schedule, bad weather, and other random stuff. I have a bunch of video footage of him that I need to get up here, too! :)
Well, can't wait to see him again up here! Are you getting icky weather in NJ? Here in Illinois, it has been FREEZING lately; I hate the cold weather. :(
It's been really cold, which sucks because my knees lock up and hurt. I have to start busting out my big blue marshmallow suit again, or I simply will not be able to ride. :(
Same here. Is the "Marshmallow Suit" the big puffy blue coat and snow pants? Haha, I remember seeing that in an older video. It's adorable! :) I had one of those before. The only bad thing about mine, is that you get hardly any traction in the saddle. :(
Yep, and mine is the same way--I have to ride in two point or my booty will be all over the place! I guess that's one way to make me practice that, eh? :)
I absolutely love Judgement ISF! He is amazing and just kills it at every competition!

You're missing someone. Georgina Bloomburg was there. I remember seeing her there riding a light colored Chestnut horse.

I'm not sure how riders qualified to be here, or whether it was by choice? Regardless, I agree, the women kicked some butt!

Sounds pretty accurate, though of course there are exceptions--both good and bad exceptions.

Haha--when I screw up a jump and get left behind or ahead and Dunc still makes a good effort, I always yell "thanks, Dunc!"...even at shows!
