  • We are what we repeatedly do.

    Excellence, therefore,

is not an act, but a habit.

    ~ Aristotle

  • I think you where sitting too close to the webcamera. Your nose, your mouth and the front of your face have come to be enlarged and distorted. Is it possible for you to zoom the camera and "zoom" the sound? Actually, I think that just to backing off from the webcamera like 0.3...0.5 meters would make a big difference.

    The sound is good.

  • You're probably right, this was one of my first videos!

  • I like that simile between money and time. (Is that correct English?) And I like that metalic sound just in the beginning. Is that from a clock that just had chimed? And I also like the setting with the clocks in the background and your blouse with minute hand / second hand inspired patterns. Perfect!

  • Thanks for noticing--I had fun with this one!

  • I very much like this quote attributed to him:

The deepest hunger of human heart is to be understood. ~ Steven R. Covey

To me that simple quote say so much of human kind and how you shall treat others. AND for me it also speaks the importence of "being heard" as a baby, child and youngster; when growing up. AND this can work wonders also on adults, AND on people who are just about to die...

  • I have read his book **7 Habits Of Highly Effective People** like ten years ago. A very good. I would call it a classic. But sadly enough...I haven't practiced very little of the wisdom of it.

  • I'm messing around faaar too much in quadrant 3 and quadrant 4. Oh, no!...

  • It's NEVER too late to improve.

  • I wanted to add one of my favorite poems to this subject that is by Khayyam. Fitzgerald also has a translation/interpretation as well. Literal: O friend, for the morrow let us not worry This moment we have now, let us not hurry When our time comes, we shall not tarry With seven thousand-year-olds, our burden carry. Meaning: O hark, let us not think of the morrow Cherish this moment, far from sorrow Life is a temporal gift that we borrow Whether dead for ages, or leave tomorrow.
  • ... Continued ... But those realizations come to people at some point in life. Time enjoyed is not wasted no matter the category. I usually don't wear any watch, and rely on clocks if needed for appointments (Part of being TooRelaxed :-)) On funny side, If we look at our YT videos that we watched and average 5 minutes for each, one starts to wonder time spend; But it sure is fun :-)

  • So true! Thanks for that. Did you see the videos in the more info box?

  • Yes, Covey's video is very good and very correct in terms of prioritizing ones efforts (I think I might have seen it before as well), and how other things fall into place when you take care of important stuff first. But it should not be forgotten that enjoying your time is very important. Since many people forget that in line of service or their daily tasks.

That album cover reminds me of university times. People had that on their walls (and one I saw on a ceiling!) :-))

  • Enjoying time totally belongs in Quadrant two, I think. I love to allow time to just BE, that's very important too. When you have little kids, I think it's ridiculous to schedule their social life to a T, when they would be content to play in a sandbox!

  • This was a good video, but I have to note. Time like other dimensions is relative. It also could feel relative. 20 minutes maybe very short time for one who is rushing to get to a class, and a long time for one who has to wait for the class to start. This is somewhat analogical to your boiling water softening a carrot and hardening an egg at the same 'time'. I very much liked David's video from your Fav list earlier, and I subscribed to him ... Continued ...

  • The 1st two minutes I didn't know what to make of this overly made up lady who looked more like a fortune teller in her dent, u know what I mean? But then I continued watching and it all started to make sense. I am so thankful for this video. For as long as I can remember I've had this dilemma when going over my to do list: urgent vs important. The white board in my office looked pretty much like this chart only scrambled! Dianne thank you SO MUCH I will look into Mr.Covey's material asap

  • Thanks for staying with me, I tape for several channels and several segments, so my look is always changing, haha. (I think I taped a "How to Slick Your Hair" segment that day too--not my normal look, but good to have in my repertoire for mixing it up.) Be sure to check out the links in the more info box, I hunted for those and they are GOLD!

  • I have read the concept in Covey's book, however hearing it from an individual with passion it becomes alive. Thank you!

  • Thank YOU for this. This is one of my favorite videos because of how this concept changed my own life.

  • I watched the video. It made so much sense and put the concept so simply. I'm sure this works equally well with both time and money. Thank you..... I needed this.

  • This is one of my favorite messages to share because of its impact to potentially change lives. Were you able to check out the links with Stephen Covey? Two thumbs up on those. I'll always remember the impact they had on me on my first exposure, I was blown away at the concept. Thanks for your comments.

  • Thanks Dianne, instead of watching TV I'll use this time to go check out the link, thank you.
