shorty go see Furthur. They wont disappoint. They aren't the Grateful Dead but are absolutely the most beautiful concerts to attend. Phil and Bobby and the Heads keep the spirit alive!
i was 2 when jerry died, i feel like my grateful dead experience is void of something. i just wish i could have been to at least one damn concert, it still bugs me...
@yoshortyb I know what you mean. Growing up I was in love with Lynyrd Skynyrd. I never got to see my man Ronnie Van Zant live. I DID get to see JG with the GD and the JGB several times. I am very glad I did. I'm sorry you didn't get the chance. But count your blessings that the GD left so many recordings and videos behind. Imagine if you had nothing. Enjoy the music. That's what it's all about.
I think Jerry is still with us, that energy never dies, all is eternal, all is one, all is connected i know i still feel him, the truth is as long as we live, he lives, cause that energy, that spirit that sweetness is born within us once we receive it, we then become it's source, it's light and we spread it to all we come into contact with, we have a direct effect in the great, vast ocean of consciousness which we are all apart of. thank you jerry for the vision
@persevere67 Very well thought and spoken out comment... I wish I had you as a friend, cause' "I" couldn't of said it any better myself... Jerry Lives On In All Of Us...
seen them when i was 27 my very first concert and one of his last.i could've been touring for 16 yrs. instead alcohol and then kids. I would never trade my kids , I surely would've done anything to trade away the alcohol thou, road left untraveled, heh. Now sober and still grovin. For me it will always be Jerry and the band You never forget your first do you?
come on... GD at its best. '77. can't touch them. after the chops of the '72 tour they were the best band in the WORLD. and their essence, their deal. they had the best deal in the world. can't imagine what it must have been like to be a young man or a young women coming into the prime of your life when the GD is doing the same.
I turned 11 in '77 ... loved the Dead. All my friends HATED them at the time. In '79 I convinced Mom to drive me to Nassu Coliseum for my first show, which I went to by myself, happily! Did not see them live again til '95, second show in Charlotte, NC> They played 'Unbroken Chain' I will never forget it as long as I live.
I could sit and listen to jerry play all day!

Don't lend your hand to raise no flag
