  • I reckon it sounds better without the drums =P. Otherwise he'd have recorded it with drums see?

If you look at it as an excersise, it was cool what you did with it though.

  • And you would be absolutely right. But isn't it amazing how the two can make the whole thing sound so complete with just piano and voice? Every bit of the spectrum filled in with their tidy exchange. I just wanted to see how it could be messed up. It was meant to be a challenge to get others to do the same. Would have made for interesting variations. Sadly others kept their talent to themselves ;=(

  • I gave you only an advice.. There are no necessary i m better than you for advice.. In addition i can play this better than you (:

  • You should be more balanced..

  • Post yours , and let see if you will do better

  • great job

  • i like it. Great recording man! You could be a drummer, I see the potential! Keep it up.

  • Isn't that a bad thing?

Y'Know? How can you tell if the floors flat? The drool comes out both sides of the drummers mouth.

  • This piece has a laid back feel to it and I think you could do that aspect of the music some justice if you kept it simple. Spain should have a Latin feel, not a jazz fusion as well. I give you your props though, you got skills, but in this situation the set part should be more of an accompaniment to the fluid styles of Chick and Bobby. It really isn't necessary, because Bobby can hold that bass line down like nobody's business. I wish you the best of luck in your future musical endeavors.

  • Very nice. I wish I had your talent!

By the way my favorite singer hiro recorded this song with the jazz group Coco d'Or. Please check out Coco d'Or on youtube. Arigato!! :)

  • Haha..indeed..listen to kaori kobayashi,as well!

  • youre amazing! i need to learn some cool drum fills. its damn funky drumming though, love the hi-hat stuff

  • you need to watch al jarreau do this with steve gad, im sure you'd see that the style is a latin feel and not fusion jazz all i hear from this is cluttered accents and pure solo's where's the monturno rythym and 6/8 timing when needed... but yes you are onto something....but just listening to chick and bobby along is enough to feel all. peace.

  • totally agree, yo uhave good ideas but it needs more of a driving rythm.

Im still not convinced by electric drums either.

  • Quite obviously, Chic and Bobby set up the groove by themselves. I could only follow what they established. I do wonder how else it could be played.

  • Amazing playing bud, but electric drums don't do much for technique and they're limiting. Hope you have a nice acoustic set too

  • Great idea, man - and great Weckl-esque drumming - keeping up with Chick isn't easy! I'd love to hear that done in a studio, with a real bass added too.

  • I don't like it, sorry.

  • Again great idea. Not lame or cheesy.
