@corymgg i don't have to do research i'm a musician. and only mainstream label signed bands get major pay for touring and shows because they label pays them for every little thing. example: most mainstream bands hate doing signings but they do it because they get payed good to do it. also unless you are mainstream ur not famous enough to get good profit off ur merch sales. most real musicians get payed in drinks from where they play, too broke to tour, and merch doesn't sell enough to matter.

@adema013 actually i just looked it up.....EVEN major label artists still can get screwed down to only making 25 cents a person per band, per cd...... so even if a band sells 500,000 cds, they only make 125,000 shared amoung 4-6 ppl making money on tour is a set thing.... most bands keep 70-80 percent of the revenue.... so if a band even like FTSKs plays a 2,000 person show and 20 buck each, thats 40,000 x a 10 show tour = 400,000..plus merch sold and all that
