Punishment presupposes free will? im sorry but you won't find that concept ANYWHERE in scripture. that is a MAN-MADE philosophy. In fact, in the bible we find just the OPPOSITE. God brings the Assyrians against a people and still holds them responsible. What about the crucifixion of Christ? Acts says those people gathered to do what God's hand and purpose PREDESTINED to occur. Was everyone involved in that held responsible? You better believe it.

Free choice is connected to rewards and punishment all throughout the Bible (Deut. 30:19, Deut. 11:26-28, Job 34:33). Rewards and punishments would be meaningless and cruel if men had no free will. And Yes God delivered Jesus unto wicked men to do what was foreordained to be done. But that doesn't mean they had no free will. Men hated Jesus and wanted to kill him on their own because of his preaching. God didn't need to force anyone. But God knew what would happen if He delivered him to them

By saying that God is 'omnipotent' AND 'omniscient' God disappears in a puff of self refuting logic. On this basis, God knew when he created everything what the outcome would be. My experience tells me that my five senses are more or less reliable. They are, by the way, not always reliable and can be fooled. Why would god make them that way? Your "rational reason" for believing in your senses has failed you ... miserably. The laws of logic are not absolute by the way and are also a product of observation. The laws of logic do not apply on a subatomic level.

I find these arguments "atheism cannot account for [x]" to be silly, because the christian tries to account for these things by appealing to magic (magic being defined here from merriam webster as: "the use of means believed to have supernatural power over natural forces." And appeals to magic aren't explanations at all, but rather primitive and baseless assertions. It is the theist who cannot account for things, and they appeal to magic an intellectually bankrupt effort to explain phenomenon.

Five senses are easily accounted for . Sight from eyes, hearing from ears, etc. Logic are statements about reality (A=A) which are either true or not true, and observation and sense experience dictates they are true. Also, our brains require some original sense input in order to function properly, so to even come up with that statement (A=A), it explicitly agrees on sense experience as a foundation. We test (A=A) on reality, and find it to correctly correspond with sense experience.

We ALL have to assume we can trust our senses in order to get anywhere, THEN we can worry about explaining why this is so. In short, a worldview that doesn't claim to have all the answers (scientific atheism) need not PROVIDE all the answers. Atheism is not formal logic and has nothing to do with logic. The only thing it deals with is the existence of gods or any other claim that theists assert. It would not have to "account" for logic or the senses just as evolution would not have to account for the creation of the universe (that is cosmology and a separate subject). Apparently god gave you your senses and logic so you could ignore them. This type of "preaching" is an annoyance and does more harm than good for your cause.

Atheism is neither psychology nor formal logic; it simply means a belief there are no gods! Psychology more adequately accounts for our senses and formal logic more adequately accounts for the Laws of Logic. How could atheism regarding Thor and Zeus explain sight or thinking? It can not! The best explanation for our senses and for our discovery of the Laws of Logic regardless if there is a god or not is Biological Evolution.

It is SAFE to think for your self! Gods are mere concepts!

The AFC(which I do not grant) is insufficient to justify the accuracy of the 5 senses since it doesn't address whether or not the necessary being made your senses accurate.

Well, if they don't transcend God's mind, then it's perfectly reasonable for a Christian to think that God both exists and does not exist. To claim that God exists in a consistent and logical fashion is an arbitrary claim within your world view.

a) purely random

b) caused by a Cartesian daemon

c) caused by the matrix

d) caused by a relationship to an objective external world.

'a' is statistically improbable compared to 'd'. 'b' and 'c' have more degrees of freedom than 'd' yet explain nothing more and so can be rejected.

'd' is the best explanation.
