This is fantastic. Brings back so many lovely memories. How come I cannot find a version of One Day in Paris anywhere? Not on YouTube and also not on iTunes!? Such a lovely song. I crave to hear it again.
Some songs like 'Chemistry' more than once gave way to what I'd define as true epiphanies… your music is like some 'spot' where Talking Heads, Bowie, but also Prog and Steve Reich are together in one 'moment in time'. Thanks!
I'm sort of curious: on that lake visit in July, what compelled the pair of you to revisit themes from This Is the Ice Age? Was there a previous, though similar holiday to the lake before 1981 which gave birth to Swimming and You Sold the Cottage?
We bought a Flip camera so we could make little intimate viral videos without a lot of complications or spending huge amounts of money. We love the Flip for its small size, image quality & ease of use - we've been carrying it around with us a lot and as we happened to be at this cottage we spontaneously decided to do "You Sold The Cottage" on the dock. (It seemed like the right song for the right time & place.) "Swimming" was a spur of the moment thing too, maybe because of all that water...
Hello. I'm a heavy fan of what I consider groundbreaking (pop) music – Beethoven, Yes, Nick Cave, DJ Shadow, NeilYoung, Pavement, Joy Division, Ten Years After. According to different moods, of course. Just wanted to leave this message. I'm now 45, but 'This is the Ice Age' has been regularly revisited years after years – and some songs like 'Chemistry' more than once gave way to what I'd define as true epiphanies…

What a nice surprise. This very song is the one that started my interest in your band back in the eighties.
