I think islam is evil but if anyone is being killed by their leaders and ask us for help-WE SHOULD HELP! Any other U.S.president would have tried to do something. Obama did nothing because he is against Israel and wants the leaders of Iran to destroy her. That is my opinion and I am entitled to it.
This all goes back to Jimmy Carter and his NSA Zbigniew Brzezinski. They overthrew the Shah.
The Liberal Fascists of the west during the 60's and 70's trained the young intellectuals of the middle east to hate anything associated with the west. When Carter wanted to overthrow the Shah the Leftists were more than willing to side with the Ayatollahs. They spoke the same language - Death to America! Down with Imperialist pigs! etc.
Don't blame Obama for his non-response. I mean, this is the guy who bussed in people illegally to steal the Iowa caucuses. What's he going to do, call IRAN's election unfair? Gee, what's a former ACORN activist to do...?
Obama (Captain Zero) is a spineless narcissist. This power greedy SOB will do nothing for the young vibrant people of Iran. When will all the people that fall under his spell figure this out? He is hell bent on putting Israel into a very precarious position. He only supports the oppressive government of Iran. He hates the free democratic nation of Israel. Nothing makes sense its like a bad dream you cant wakeup from. The Iranian people deserve freedom.
This comment is coming very quick. Obama's first responsibility is to his country. Secondary concerns are secondary for a reason.
You should be turning your bile towards the iranians for allowing this to happen in the first place. Its their country (State), their islamic beliefs (society) and their personal responsibility (people).
Our President's idea of hope and change don't extend to these people who are literally dying for freedom. Could he show as much concern for them as he shows to the unions in the USA? Could he show as much concern for them as he does for Acorn? I'm glad Michelle Obama is finally proud of America, because I am ashamed of this administration's pandering to these thugs in Iran's gov't while watching unarmed people die in the streets.
Obama's first responsibility is to his country. Secondary concerns are secondary for a reason.
You should be turning your bile towards the iranians for allowing this to happen in the first place. Its their country (State), their islamic beliefs (society) and their personal responsibility (people).
Since Obama has been busily shredding the Constitution, pushing cap & trade, which he said will cause our utility prices to "skyrocket", while refusing to allow us to drill for the 885.9 billion barrels of crude and shale oil off the Continental shelf and within the lands of the US. He has illegally fired 3 IGs, stolen from rightful bond holders, taken over private companies while being responsible to his own country. If he helps Iran the country won't last long...change they can believe in.
By all means have a go at obama for his domestic failures. I am not an Obama fan. But what you originally espoused was putting blame on obama for the situation in iran. Clearly illogical.
How did I blame Obama for the situation in Iran? I don't blame him for the violence against the protestors. I blame him for his silence in not condemning the acts of the government of Iran. The Iranian gov't belatedly admitted to irregularities in the voting process but declined to make corrections, instead they continued in their violent suppression of the protestors. Obama's pandering to the Iranian gov't for days rather than condemning their actions put us in a posture of weakness.
As far as the focus of my bile, it is the man who encouraged and assisted Ayatollah Khomeini to leave France and return to Iran in 1979 the peanut farmer, Jimmy Carter. Carter threw the Shah to the wolves and brought in a brutal misogynist regime. Shouldn't we be reponsible to help fix what Carter broke? Obama isn't silent because he is busy being responsible to his oath of office, he is waiting to side with the winner.
Re: dead people, you said I should focus my bile toward the Iranians. Jimmy Carter is not dead, he may look that way but his heart is apparently still beating. This situation didn't come out of a vacuum, our former president helped to put these ayatollahs in a place of authority. Many Iranians, in & out of Iran, have been begging for our help. Standing with them publicly, relaying their torment to the outside world is something we owe them, Carter won't do it & it appears that Obama agrees.
This situation came out of this situation. Other factors always exist, the problem is, these muslims dont ask EACH OTHER for help. Only through moderate and non-religious muslims coming together can they clean up their OWN house.
How come we never hear this message?
Because people always put the problems of the world at the feet of the US and bleet "What are you gonna do about MY mess? huh?"
Actually, I take this personally because of some of the fine Iranian people I've met online and in person. The ex-pats have been former Muslims or Zoroastrian & all mourn for the country they once loved, a very few are children of Armenians who found refuge in Iran after the genocide but fled during the Iraqi/Iran war. Several of these people have begged me to let the world know of their suffering, good luck with that. But now the world hears & sees an Islamic theocracy and the joys of Sharia.
When the ex-pats of Iranian decent are standing on street corners in the U.S., Canada, Western Europe, and elsewhere we should all be standing with them showing our support.
These people don't want us to fix their mess, but most of them believe that no one knows of their oppression. When you are invisible, you eventually see yourself as nothing and see no way out. Even the former Muslims who defiantly announced themselves to be atheists have thanked me profusely for my prayers. Being acknowledged allows them to believe that they can do something. I guess that is the basis for my anger toward Obama, he let them be invisible for too long.
He "let them be"? This is what I disagree with. You place the blame on Obama (I am not a fan of his btw) but this is the same old crap about the west somhow being responsible for how the arab nations have been screwing each other over for the last 1400 years. IMHO there are only one group who are responsible for the state of the muslim countries: The muslims, and the law they live under.
Yes, he let them be invisible when just a few words from his bully pulpit would have given them the recognition that has been denied to them. I've been forwarding pleas from some of these people to all of the major networks and newspapers for several years, NO ONE has ever responded to my calls and letters. Obama, with a few words could have given them the attention of the world. I blame him for kissing up to the ayatollahs rather than rebuking their cruelty...and they still don't like him!
Yet somehow the problem lands on Obama's shoulders once again. Why not pick on any of the muslim leaders of the world? Islam is more culture and ideology than religion. These are the people who need to be called on what they are doing or not doing. Not Obama, who for all intents and purposes has nothing to do with them.
Would you feel the same way were I to complain about Obama's silence regarding the Arab Muslim gov't of Sudan and their selective slaughter of Black animists, Black Christians and even Black Muslims? It isn't putting anything on his shoulders, it is expecting him to take a stand on anything besides spending our money. Since when did it become admirable for anyone to stand idly by watching real racism, real torture, misogny, murder, starvation and keep silent? I don't, do you, should he?
Personally I agree with you. But you cant expect morality from government officials. Morality does not exist at that level. Its for people to change, not governments.
Iranians have to spill their own blood in the coup that will free them from tyranny. They need a revolution, not a platitude from an elected officail who lives 5,000 miles away.
This is only my opinion, and I respect your stance even if i think its a pipe-dream.
Sadly I have to agree & it appears to be the same with Israel. Obama doesn't want to meddle in Iran but tells the Jews in Judea & Samaria not to reproduce. Will he ever support those who long for freedom? My friends have mentioned how proud they are of Cyrus & how he helped the Jews return to Israel so long ago. They are proud of Xerxes & his Jewish queen Esther. The mullahs hate that heritage & destroy reminders of a past the Iranians love then replace it with hatred and savagery. Heartbreaking.
The Iranians are not Arabs, in fact many hate Islam because they believe it to be an Arab religion. The Iranians have told me they believe Arabs to be barbarians and thugs, therefore calling them Arabs is an insult. I'm not in a position to agree or disagree with their judgements, I'm just telling you what they've told me. From an historical perspective the arab nations have done exactly as you said but where does that leave the conquered dhimmis?
Yes, and these people don't want us to fix their problems, they just want the dignity of being recognised. When you have no voice you may as well not exist. Now their voices are starting to be heard but the cost has been tremendous. My friends in the US are living in terror of what is happening to their loved ones in Iran because silence has descended. We can only imagine what is being done and if the past is an indicator the bloodshed & torture will continue. We need to be their voices.
With regards to dhimmis, I have no idea. thats a different conversation. I think the concept of dhimmis is abhorent. They should be thankful they did not have rthe same rules applied to them in the west or they would not have been able to share in the wonderful innovations of our christian heritage.
