That's also 191mph on the salt at Bonneville. It's much much harder to go that speed there. That bike on smooth asphalt closer to sea level would likely be well over 200mph. Like the others have said there are different classes so you build a bike for a class. Some like classes because they are a challenge to make speed.
And, yes. I realize the last post here was a year ago. :)
they just broke the LAND SPEED RECORD on a 600 and you say 'Why a 600' man surely 'why' is IN the title, they ALSO broke it with parts anyone can buy from PC, although cheaper to buy from the states and get em shipped to UK, Ohh, and FYI the 1000 class is a different ballgame all together, you obviously do not comprehend what an achievement this is you Dufus :p
Yes, but the key words are "on a 600." Who cares? Am I supposed to be amazed when someone breaks the 'land speed record on a 50cc?' These are speeds accomplished long ago by other bikes.
I care. They broke the speed record for that class of motorcycle. Technically it is far more impressive to break 210 mph on a 600cc bike than the same speed on a 1000cc bike. That is why there are different classes in every type of motor sport. You don't seem to get it. Perhaps I am wasting my words. BTW, what does dr stand for in your Youtube ID?
It's a waste to turbo a 600 because if you're going to spend all the time, money, and effort to make a bike go faster it would be a lot more logical to use a 1000 or bigger. You have no idea what I have so shut your mouth.

Damn, shame about the wobble. The average would have been much higher!

Just put a Power Commander on my FJR1300 a couple of weeks ago. I'll never have another bike without one.
