grunts are just a way to let out momentum...if that makes any sense. pitchers willl know what im talking about. I dont see a lot of break from this angle. maybe next time angle it behind her...
for those of you that are saying that her balls arent moving or whatever....mind your own business and dont worry about it. Im sure the ones that are saying these things aren't the best pitchers in the world so for them to tell other people how to pitch is ridiculous....keep it up kaitlyn i think ur doin good ur gunna go somewhere:)
Good pitching, good location, and just good overall. My daughter pitches and is a great pitcher, but we work on what will give her the most movement on each pitch. If was going to suggest anything is be more aggresive on bringing your drag foot hard into your finish stance.
No offense, but a riseball os meant to rise. Not to be high. Its supposed to have a break that makes the rotation in it rise. Simple science people. Plus. Why would it be called rise if it is high and stays that way. Where im from we call it a ball.
@mousles01179 it serves a couple of purposes...it's a timing mechanism, and it can distract the batter. Here's why grunting isn't effective: 1. It most certainly doesn't throw off the batter, or at least a skilled one; Where it can be a timing mechanism for the pitcher it is also for the batter. 99% of grunters "grunt" at release. 2. Another common misconception: grunting makes me throw faster. There are absolutely no studies to support that.
I can't bare to watch it anymore the noise is annoying me. But good pitching! The camera angle is a little weird though...you look like you're pitching too far back...? And i don't see a big amount of break on the ball when throwing movement pitches...again it could just be the camera angle..
@Luminescence12 I agree. She IS a good pitcher. I just tend to be blatantly honest. And I've been pitching for 10 years...there IS a difference between throwing it high and throwing it with a spin to make it really break. So I do know what I'm talking about darling. :)
@musicforall182 I was a fastpitch pitcher for 12 years 2 of those years being NCAA DIII softball. While u are somewhat right, not all of her pitches "broke" the way they should, a lot of them did. She's young and still has time to really fine tune her spin. The great thing is she has good/consistent mechanics! Also, whomever taught her, I really enjoyed the type of follow thru she uses. Nothing is worse than the outdated touch ur hand to ur shoulder follow thru. Also her turn over drop was great
Is it just me (and it may be the camera angle) or is she further back than 43 feet, if so then I can only imagine what she does when she moves closer.
Your nice enough said :)

@mousles01179 its called a grunt....it can give you more speed, and momentum!(:
maddison1556 2 months ago
@mousles01179 it's called grunting... it gives you at least 3 mph on your pitch. It also throws off the batter.
