  • I love how you can hear someone mouthing the theme in the background at around the 10:00 mark. Such great energy in this song.

  • benson tears this to sub atomic pieces

  • I love this. This version definitely trumps the original cos of Billy Cobham's drums, but Johnny Hammond can't hold a candle to Herbie on the Rhodes.

  • The full version of this recording is so jam packed with incredible solos, so intense, that I could not believe over eighteen minutes had elapsed when they began to wrap up the jam. I think that the word "epic" is overused...but, not in this case.

  • i have the cd and its 100% lenny white at the original recording and tony williams at this particullar extra live track

  • This is so fucking unbelievable. My favourite Jazz recording of all time.

  • somzeraa violento!

  • It's Cobham alright, this personnel stuff is rarely expressed in a coherent manner. As far as I can recall Turrentine also recorded something on the same date with Cobham, Hubbard, Hammond and Benson.

  • unbelievable

  • idk man i still think it says billy cobham for track 6 look again

  • @tacomann216 copy-paste from wiki: Personnel * Freddie Hubbard - trumpet * Joe Henderson - tenor saxophone, flute * Herbie Hancock - electric piano, organ * Ron Carter - bass, electric bass * Lenny White - drums on track 6 * Freddie Hubbard - trumpet * Stanley Turrentine - tenor saxophone * Johnny "Hammond" Smith - organ/electric piano * George Benson - guitar * Ron Carter - bass * Billy Cobham - drums * Airto Moreira - percussion

  • the live version actually has Lenny White on drums..

  • not according to wikipedia o.O

  • @tacomann216 Wiki says its Lenny White on the live one too (track 6)

  • Gotosoda, thank you so much for this upload!

I fully agree with you. This so called alternative take is superior to the original. This live recording is on fire!

    Thanks again, mate.
