The Ducks national championship hopes were gone the moment that Dixon went down in the ASU game, because even though we didn't know it, that is actually when he suffered his season ending injury. Even had we somehow won the last three games, there was no way we'd beat LSU or OSU or any of the other title contenders without Dixon. It would be like asking Texas to beat USC in the rose bowl without Young. So by all means, celebrate your win, but please don't act like you ruined our season.

I was at this game, and I only witnessed one fan shout anything toward Dixon. He was quickly corrected by the fans around him. Notice 0:55-1:11 as they talk about the fans ripping into Dixon. Do any of the fans in the background even seem to care that he is standing right in front of them? Hell no!
This is all because Arizona cheered when he went down, unaware that he was injured. At the time, it looked like a sack. Everyone went quiet when he didn't get up.

Dude, as a non-biased CFB fan, what UA did was amazing, but put yourself in UO's spot. They started in the bottom of the rankings that season, rose to the #2 spot, and lost their leader that was putting them in the spotlight to injury. I hate to rain on the Wildcats victory over #2 Oregon last season, but it is a fact that your fans did taunt Dixon on the sideline. I'm not a fan of either ball club, I'm a UGA fan. Go Dawgs!! That game did make FoxNews in Atlanta. They love to follow title contendors around during football season. They'll sit in the stands and cheer for the under-dog wearing their colors with a camera. The words "classless", and "unsportsman like" were used a lot during the report.

The Ducks national championship hopes were gone the moment that Dixon went down in the ASU game, because even though we didn't know it, that is actually when he suffered his season ending injury. Even had we somehow won the last three games, there was no way we'd beat LSU or OSU or any of the other title contenders without Dixon. It would be like asking Texas to beat USC in the rose bowl without Young. So by all means, celebrate your win, but please don't act like you ruined our season.

I was at this game, and I only witnessed one fan shout anything toward Dixon. He was quickly corrected by the fans around him. Notice 0:55-1:11 as they talk about the fans ripping into Dixon. Do any of the fans in the background even seem to care that he is standing right in front of them? Hell no!
This is all because Arizona cheered when he went down, unaware that he was injured. At the time, it looked like a sack. Everyone went quiet when he didn't get up.

Wrong, 12-1 in 98 when they went to the Holiday Bowl, and took down a good Nebraska team. I believe the Cats were 5th in the Nation. I crack up about the Ducks fans and their commentatores. I was at the game and near Dixons exit down the sidelines, i heard nobody taunt him, and nobody cheered when he went down. I initially cheered becaause I thought it was a sack, not the end of a good teams hopes and dreams.

Actually it did matter.
Ryan Leaf had 2 interceptions - one that gave UA a touchdown and the other that gave UA the ball at the 15 yard line.
Another turnover came as part of a fake punt due to the fact that Leaf and the rest of the offense were not in sync.

Umm no Oregon was winning 8-7, would've been 15-0 if Derrick Jones didn't drop a perfect pass from Dennis Dixon in the endzone. Oregon was in the red zone when Dixon went down. Oregon settles for a field goal to make the lead 11-7. so no Arizona wasn't winning and they got lucky to even score while Dennis Dixon was in.

A "garbage team" ended your hopes to have a claim to fame for being as good as you said you were. Oregon was overrated. As bad as that sounds about the win for Arizona, it was true. We proved it, and then some. Nothing you can do about it.

So if the voters knew (which they did) that Oregon had so many injured starters, why were they ranked so high? That would make them overrated, correct? I believe that. I also believe that a healthy Oregon would have kicked our asses. But you know what, it didn't turn out that way. Nothing you can do. Move on. By the way, you fail to sound smart when you resort to insulting people like you have continuously done to me.

cuz they dont just take a team like oregon who was winning games and drop them cuz of injuries...even though they should...u just cant...i just dont c how u kud have such litle respect for a team that was amzing and the team that was the most fun 2 watch in the nation

I HAD plenty of respect for Oregon, until their fans came onto Arizona message boards talking trash telling us how we got so lucky and we shouldn't have won...if this, if that. Why should I respect a bunch of myopic whiners? The team, yes, I respect the team.

so its not just the duck fans, its both sides and really all u arizona fans that say the ducks suck r a bunch of idiots

So the same can be said for Oregon fans posting on USC message boards telling them that they suck...The Rose Bowl champs suck? But you're right it's just Arizona fans that taunt the opposing fans once they win. The shoe only fits on our foot. By the way, the last two quotes are true. And I did like the game. I wouldn't go so far as to say "fuck the ducks" because I will root for the PAC-10 over anyone else.

and the ducks being overasted is just one of the dumbest things ive eva heard, but i guess being overated is better than being like UA (not rated at all)

I might as well mention that as an Oklahoma Sooner, this childish reaction by the Oregon faithful comes as no surprise. They were all so quick to point the "sore loser" finger at us after a game a couple years ago was decided by poor officiating. Now, they're exposed for what they are, real sore losers. Those announcers talking down on the UA program as if Oregon is some perennial powerhouse, HAHAHA.

RIGHT this is from the same group of fans that sent DEATH THREATS to NCAA president myles brand and the pac 10 officials from the oregon-oklahoma game. the same school that has gotten in MORE TROUBLE and PROBATION than ANY OTHER school in the NCAA.

How it's being handled? The taunting of Dennis Dixon was over the top, but the rest of the celebration was well within the limit by Arizona. I would hate too if I was an Oregon fan though...lol 2 years in a row;)
