I would say instead of dueling you might want to get toughness because Consulars usually have pretty low health

This game is pretty much max dexterity and then max whatever other attributes you need to meet the minimum requirements for your feats and abilities. Other than that, dexterity is the only attribute that matters.

Dexterity is so much more important than any other attribute that it is worth it to max it out even with the severe penalties it gives.

I've won max difficulty with an 8 strength Sith who used no weapon past level 6.

Having a counsular with duel wielding is awesome, because you can get hold twice the upgrades in your lightsaber.

The hardest possible playthrough in my opinion is as a Full Light-Side Jedi Consular/Jedi Watchman combo...using ONLY Dark Side Powers, especially when you're in the Force Cave on Korriban.

Nah. If you build pure light side Consular or Sentinel right then it won't matter. You'll have it hard early on, but then mid and late game you are invincible.

And when I did "pure light side" I did NO lightning, because in the movies Jedi do not use force lightning.

My Consular and Sentinel were so strong I just did Force Stasis on Darth Traya even on max difficulty and she is powerless.

I never really used Force Lightning so much, even on a Dark Side playthrough...and the only class combination I ever bothered to use for a DS playthrough was Jedi Consular/Sith Lord...

On attacking 1-2 people, Guardian.

3 or more = Consular. That is, if you have level 3 lightning...

Guardian = Break down door, smash everyone. Uses Strength

Sentinel = Use terminal to unlock door/Use security, Program droid to help you, etc. Cannot DPS naturally, so people use Dexterity so they wont get hit.

Consular = Use the force to open door (Cant really do that ingame, but whatev), and rape everyone with Lightning.

Your choice. :D

Odd attribute point distribution for a consular build, there's some serious advantages to bumping them all to 10, apart from constitution and intelligence which you set to 12 and then putting the rest into the wisdom/charisma. There's deffinately something to be said for being able to use Force Kill on Sion and not have him save against it. Also, as a Consular you might as well dual wield to bump up your melee damage, sepecially as you have all those lovely CC powers.

Just pulled this out of the dusty cupboard where my old x-box lived, cranked it up and started playing it again. My old save game wasn't very far in and i've had a ball playing it. Slightly jilted story but the exile is a great character. Thumbs up for discovering older games.

Speaking of attributes, I beat the KOTOR 1 by putting all of my points into constitution and strength, making an insane melee character. It was really easy. I'm not to sure if it would work on this one. It's a little more in depth and less linear than the first one.

I beat the game with a dark side Jedi that had maxed strength to about 33. No cheats. He tore Sion a new one in about 3 hits.

Why Does Everyone dump on the Guardian. I played as a Guardian and it work out Great. I could outfight anyone , I had good presuade so I could out talk them as well. and my force powers while limited in number compared to the other classes were still quite effective. And the skills or powers that I lacked my party members more than made up for.

i like being the consular however i have 2 ask why u didnt put any skill points on security or the class skill repair? both can be used to gain a lot of xtra experience escpecially on peragaus. I agree with the need 4 dueling as well but toughness would've been a good choice since a consular doesnt start off with a lot of health

Just a question, why would you go for the dueling feats when you can just as easily go for 2 weapon fighting and as a result deal significantly much more melee damage? Is there some kind of force penalty for using two weapons or some other factor that I'm unaware of or is it just for role-playing purposes?

Just a personal preference really, I don't usually worry about melee damage unless I'm a g or s, I just set up dueling now so that I have a basic close combat, and later on I don't have to keep putting many points into that, but instead into more force related things.
