You asshole don't even understand how it works, fucking retard. Nice to call people nerds, while your life has only one achievement, you learn'd how to walk. Congratulations! These "geeks" that people in this society pushes to the corners, they are the ones that made possible for you to use computers, play your fps games, use your cellphone... list goes on.
So please, next time you leave a comment, read it twice then try to think... even something?
that was retarted it was so fake i mean how hard is it to have a guy in the backround playing the hi hat if it was real why would some waste all that time on a thing that only plays one thing they must have nothing better to do and that is all if u say im wrong ur wrong cause a rednecks always right
why do you need all of that crap to just play one wav file. all you need is a motion sensor and a program that you could easily make to connect to it via usb or firewire. all that is not necessary.
Who cares if it's long dead, old fashioned or whatever. If you can create something this advanced by yourself, you've got academic talent. I know I couldn't do it. I'm more of an artsy type person and technology is something I don't quite understand.
I will do that, with 8 different 'air-pads' to play 8 .wav sounds simultaneously, and the response time can be better if the rs232 communications go at 192kbps, instead of the 9200bps that goes now.
is there any way to get those pads to sample from an actual drum module instead of .wav files from a computer? Do you ever plan to incorperate MIDI into the system?
i want to know how to make this!!! i want to use this to set up a USB drum set at my desk at work so that i can practice during the day. didn't find directions online to do this yet. hoping to.
Screw the haters, I'd like to see them assemble a simple parrarallel resistant circuit, much less something like this. Personally I think it's damn cool, keep on trying shit, just don't short out your laptop. :D I remember doing a few things like this back in the day using the pararallel or com port, what do you guys use now a days?
the laptop looking thing is a pic trainer, I could have done the same circuit without it, with this you can program the pic and then connect the circuit without having to move the pic.
it'd be cool if i could make something like that!!
I would try to take over the world with that kind of technology, kuz then you can get the machine to do something besides that. like.. talk! with hundreds of different commands for different words and a keyboard to go with it, you type in a word and the word is like a command for the machine to say that word, you can help Mute ppl talk! so they don't have to write everything they want to say!
i read alotta people calling them "nerds" and "go buy a drumset" first of all, cause they can make something that you cant, doesnt make them a nerd, just makes you a lil more stupid, secondly, its not the drum playing you morons the issue, he didnt show a drum technque or something, he showed a motion activation program, they arent nerds, you're just too stupid to get it
I would love to see a whole drum set made with this type of motion sensor. You could sit and play a virtual set and the sounds would be there. Sort of like a Theremin but a percussion instrument.
Can you understand the difference between electronic proof of concept and "oh my God, I need a cymbal!"?
They have the knowledge to make an electronic cymbal with their own hands instead to buy it. That's very admirable. Probably you can't, and prefer to spend your money buying one, without know how to play it, and then continue writing stupid capital comments here in your frustration.
To overclock: Buen trabajo tios.
That's nice! Felicitaciones por hacer esto! Abrazo de Brasil. And all you assholes that couldn't do anything better than criticizing their work, stfu.
wow you write in english, good then understand this...i was kidding, hahaha pullyour head out of yer arse and laugh a little it might melt some of dat brain freeze!I was camparing the two countries peoples because of the accent, not the map similarities you idiot..
What the hell? Have you even heard German or Icelandic? Icelandic sounds completely different to either Spanish or German. O_o' And German sounds different to Spanish. O_o
How bout, instead of being an ass, congratulate him for the fact that he is possibly improving technology or giving an attempt to. Instead of buying something already invented from someone else, Why not try to make something yourself.
it's much simpler that it seems on the video, the circuit is based only on a pic and max232 to convert signals to rs232, and then the pc recieves the number of 'pad' that detected your hand, it's useless with only one pad, but it can be useful when you have 6 or 8 drum sounds at the same time.
Why bother with max232? You could have done it with two comparators instead and forget about pic's uart - it only brings latency :))) Nevermind, keep on rocking dude! You can do a full-fledged midi drum-station with that - just add more inputs :) And yes, a fast XT oscillator and a few ADCs for velocity-sensitive drums - or use the ones in your PIC :)
cymbol, symbol, who gives a fuck, why in gods name would anyone want to spend that much time recreating what, to all intents and purposes sounds like a biscuit tin falling on the ground
You don't have to wire all those wires to get just one fucking cymbal. Why won't you go to your nearest music store and buy the actual cymbal, better yet buy the whole drumset, you nerd?!
I wasn't trying to get anyone mad here.. I'm just saying it's impressive to have something like that without rewiring an old power glove or something. What ever happend to just watching a video and laughing or giving the occasional "wow" without insulting it?
