  • I wish there was another recording of Sylvia McNair in 4/4.

  • @anneayer There is, she recorded it with Robert Shaw and the Atlanta Symphony. Her version is the fastest I've heard it recorded. It's fantastic. There's even a live video of her singing it on youtube. Look it up.

  • @gadella1985 ehm nop, because of the pitch, this is with A=440, instead of traditional A=415

  • @thebarroque right, but i mean the rythm, i sing this piece quite differently, more like the version of kathleen battle etc. especially the first sentences are totally different.

  • @gadella1985 Handel wrote three different version fo this aria:

    2 for Dublin's version of the Messiah in 12/8 (this is the second of these two)

    1 the most famous of all in 4/4
