i remember level 42 were on the show playing love games and i thought they were SHIT in comparison to this tune. although i did change my opinion when i heard 42s first album.
what an underrated band. started out as straight out jazz funkers but developed into this early 80s synth funk monsters, under Arthur Baker's guidance. again, what a band!
It's a shame they did'nt make more albums before going all electro. As a Brit funk band they were the best and Mariposa is just a blinding tune. Watch there Mariposa live version on(You Tube) "The Old grey whistle test "its a fantastic 7min version.
