  • Why aren't people like this guy more well known?

  • Dude you're awesome.... I like pentatonics but I'm not good with the modes.

  • Very nice man, congrats. Could you do a video showing the licks you used? I'm trying to solo on pentatonics and I want to learn new licks!

  • Freakin awesome solo + dolphins in the background = MIND BLOWN :3

  • WHat amp are you using and what kind of setting?

  • Nice...

  • If I could be at your level of playing, I'd be pretty happy. Great job man.

  • gear set up ?

  • apologises sir great playing regardless :)

  • You sound like steve vai at times.

  • Kickass playing dude, and I agree with rklewis. Excellent use of the whammy bar!

  • Absolutely awesome dude !!!

  • Very, very nice! You stand out from so much of the wanking shred I've seen on here. Some tasteful melodic playing, no sweep picking (thank goodness), and good use of the tremolo bar. My advice? Drop the tapping. You don't need it, and it's too identifiable. Other than that, you sound unique, which is what it should be all about. Great job!

  • @rklewis2 Your comment just made my day... Thxs dude! I appreciate it! Rock On!!

  • @CHECKS013 Your playing reminds me of a bit of Satch along with the solo from "My Shirona" from The Knack. Nice tone, too. What are you running through? Also, did you deliberately avoid the cliche' stuff younger players are into nowadays? I've been playing for 33 years, so I have some idea what I'm talking about. Shred IS impressive - for about a minute. Then it gets boring. It's all about dynamics and phrasing. Not speed for speed's sake.

  • @rklewis2 Thx again man! here I was using a Mesa Triaxis and a Tc G-major, from the record output straight to my sound card so only the Mesa "phantom" power amp and a 5.1 Creative speakers. I totally agree with you about shreding man...idk I just try to express what I feel....for this solo I DID get some inspiration from satch's "summer song" one of my favorites...I actually call this solo "Sunny day on the beach" hehe because the backing track reminded me of the show Baywatch for some reason...

  • @rklewis2 wonderful telling other musicians HOW to express themselves to fit your musical state of mind instead of what they musically find enjoyable and expressive....get over yourself.

  • @arcainjust

Whatever, kid. I didn't tell you or anyone how to express themseves. If you want to play wanking shred, it's fine with me. You're free to sound just like all the other kids at guitar center, thinking they've got the world by the tail, when, in reality, you end up sounding like a clone. Go for it.

  • ibanez ftw

  • a really great video, hey could you tell me wich amp do you use and how do you set it? do you use any pedal?

    great vid man!

  • dude, lovin the dives!

  • what chord progression can i use the minor pentatonic scale

  • @robineellar Probabably every single chord progression you can come up with, it's all about what notes from the pentatonic scale you choose to play.

  • Loved it!! But that wasn't all pentatonics

  • this was pretty awesome! Reminds me Sonic Adventure on the Sega Dreamcast and of course Van Halen :). Keep doin' what you be doin'

  • You make all the other pentatonic solo vids I watch look boring mayne!

  • Nice playing, but work on your vibrato a little bit more, it sounds a little weak ;)

  • I only dream of shit like this, great playing mate, nice guitar too.

  • Good job!!! Irishmen :D

  • So Fluid :) Great Playing Dude :)

  • fuck . great solo. which effekt board you play and which amp

  • nice solo !!

  • is this the sonic adventures song??????

  • Great !!! 10/10

  • DUDE you ROCK !!!

  • Dude, You totally rock!!!

Thanks for your music and for sharing!

    cheers!

  • man! can't believe you used only the pentatonic scale =0

    really impressive! /o/

liked the steve vai's bar style xD

  • man ur style is greatttttttttttttttttttttt

  • Great vid =D

I'd ask for tabs but I'd never manage to play it =P

Shared your video on Facebook, hope you won't mind (=

  • @emotivenextway Thx bro! sorry idk how to make tabs and of course i dont mind u sharing my vid. Cheers!

  • i got a question tho. i be makin real good solos sometimes but the problem is i forget what i played so my solos are never really solid cuz i cant remember what the fuck i did. any solution.

  • @WhiteGrande93 when u make ur own solo song u shud write its tabs on a sheet paper u can get a sheet paper from justinguitar website in this way it will make easier to play nxt time and besides u can even make slight additions to ur song by trying different notes

  • @WhiteGrande93 Hey man what you can do is recording your improvs and then listen to them so you can remember the good licks u played. Cheers

  • dis aint completely pentatonic tho. definely major and minor in there if aint nobody know

  • Could you please tell how much practice have you been doing to reach this level? I practise every night about two hours on shredding but feel that improvement is very slow. Thanks.

  • yo could u make a tab,,, and send me a link ,,, this is an exalent solo,,, i need to learn it,,,,,, thanks mannn

  • perfect!

  • That was nice bro!

  • Dat was fuckin badass good job man

  • keep rockn man

  • @iAIvaro Hey man, no this solo was not improvised

  • Which total guitar issue was it?

    Excellent solo mate !

  • @Gudfelluz Thanks!, idk I think it was from 2003

  • @CHECKS013

    Cheers matey !

  • dude , this is really cool, I mainly play major/minor 7 note scales and harmonic minor as when I play pentatonics it always sounds like the standard blues licks.

This has a great van halen feel sort of like dreams, will have to get back into pentatonics. nice harmonics. cheers...paul UK

  • Face-meltingly good! Brilliant stuff.

  • this is so amazing, very cool man..thumbs up!!

  • i have a question on scales. So if i was to play a solo in the key of E, could i use the E minor pentatonic, and E major pentatonic?

  • 0:28 sounds kinda like AC/DC's Shoot to Thrill :)

  • @VietBaller23 THANK YOU SOO MUCH MAN!

  • one of my favorite solo's on youtube. Such a great job. I would love to see you play some of these solo's on an SG

  • You have a wonderful left hand touch!

  • Man, I would pay dozens if this was done professionally. Seriously get yourself signed, if you don't then i think a lot of people are missing out. 10K views? should be more like 10Mil.

  • Nice Poster !! Daulphin Rock !!

    Fuck YEAHH

    Nice Playing too !!

  • Fudgen awesome guitar!!!!!!!!!!

  • Could you tell me what scales (or forms) that you used.

    For example (pentatonic, lydian, etc.)

  • @NathanRyanAllen Hey man sorry for the delay, I used the 5 shapes of the c major and minor pentatonic scales.

  • Hey man its me again from awhile back.

That lick from 1:12 to 1:15 is amazing, i literally shudder when i hear it aha, ive been tryna get it by ear but im finding it really hard to work out cos its that fast, any tips or advice for me man? cheers

  • Amazing

  • two words AW and SOME man you rule rock on

  • great!

  • fucken awesome!

  • How long have you been playing?

  • Wow this sounds really good! A smooth tone

  • 2:45 to 3:45 is fucking amazing

  • you need to enter one of those guitar solo contests were you write a solo over a backing track. i think you would come in the top 3

  • I'm learning this to, only when i do it, it doesn't sound like that at all :p Still learning, but when I see this I'm motivated to continue learning!

  • thats was sweet bro. nice use of the pentatonic

  • when ur doing a pentatonic solo do u stay completely on the scale or do u stray from it a little every once and a while? also what key is this in?

  • Well...there are 5 different patterns so in this solo I use pretty much all of them...and a few notes of the major scale...

  • ya i kno but like for example like if your playing in the key of E like will u stick completely on the 5 patterns for that key or will you sometimes hit a note that isnt on the patterns?

  • @thisdayjustbelongedt I would stay on the patterns and sometimes hit notes out of the patterns but in the same key. For example this is in the key of C, so I use the 5 patterns of the major and minor pentatonic but sometimes I hit notes out of the patters but in the key of C. Just by ear if u play a note that isn't in the key sounds horrible...

  • man that was wicked im just learning how to solo but i cant wait to be as good as u if i ever get that far

  • man first off i would like to say you are sick! second thanks for showing me that pentatonic solos are still cool like ive been using modes and some other lesser known scales to find that magical soloing sweet spot that you just hit but now i realize that what i was looking for was in my arsenal for some time.

  • Thx man! good to hear my solo inspired you so much!

  • what song was the backing track it looks awesome to solo to

  • weee dude I enjoyed this really well ;)) really nice skills :) You Rock \m/

  • o.o super!

  • Hey, you should be a rockstar. Join a band or something. Someone would need you for their guitarest. Nice!

  • I appreciate the kind words dude! will do!

  • dats wat eargasms is all about dude

  • hahaha eargasms cool man! Thanks! :)

  • wow - blown away, I can only play power chords at this stage, brilliant :)

  • omg...Just...Let Me Breath for a second ok ?

ok....Thats one of the coolest Things i've seen !

you Have really amazing tones !

  • Dude this is awesome, great job !!!

  • Do you have a download link for that backing track it sounds great!

  • Hey, sorry man the backing track is from Total Guitar, the magazine. It came in a bonus cd with 6 backing tracks in different styles, this was the Van Halen style track. Its really old....

  • you are amazing!!

What can I say? just wow!!

  • awesome impro dude

  • WOW that was AMAZING as the last 91 people said. Anyways ive been playing a couple years now and really throw all the time I got into it. Anyways I've started learning theory and was wondering your opion on how helpful or vital it is. Kinda stuck in the minor pent right now lol.cant wait to get a jamman looper i think that gonna be the most helpful. for practicing diff. modes and scales. Cant wait to hear your input later bro -kyle

  • Hey man! thanks for the comment, to be honest I dont know much music theory. I went to music school for 3 years when I was like 10 or 11 years old for piano but I quit and later I learned guitar by myself. What I did was learning some metallica songs, chords, the pentatonics...some licks and improvise with backing tracks trying to create my own licks and stuff. And also I think ear training is a LOT more important than music theory. later bro!

  • raped it dude

    fucking awesome

love the rock on gesture at the end

    you OWN bro

  • Dude this is like PURE AWESOMENESS

  • Loved it.

A lot of the licks you played were simple licks that most people know,...however, you made them fresh and new and played them like they were your little bitches. It is a rare talent that can take simplicity and make it grand...

  • Thanks for the comment dude!, thats true, i think music dont have to be too complicated to communicate something good

  • JIZZED IN MY PANTS

  • this is one of the best guitar videos on youtube! i'm amazed with your guitar playing!

  • Stop being amazing at guitar...

  • how long have you been playin man? this is some good shit

  • For like 12-13 years. Thnx!

  • holy best solo on youtube batman

  • Very nice !!

  • Man This is awesome

    Your style is like Satriani´s!

    Thats pretty awesome

  • this is proof that you dont have to play as fast as you can to shred- good job dude- ps where did you get the backing track?

  • Hey dude, thanks the backing track is from Total Guitar magazine. Van halen Style, don't remember the number though. If you want it i could send it to u. Peace

  • yeah dude send it that is an awesome backing track- i thought it sounded familiar lol - i know i cant play as good as you but ill post a vid response if you send me that backing track and you can tell me what you think- again that is an awesome solo you did

  • Crazy, awesome playing man, nice tone too

  • at least tab the lick at 2:25 for me! paalease!

  • Dude, that was amazing. 2 things. Are you using any type of processor and are you rocking EMG's?

  • how long have you been playing?? how many years ?? (sorry bad english ; i'm french ^^')

  • you look like newstead, and the facial hair just adds to it xD great playing!!

  • thats right jaja

  • i think you like Joe Satriani cus thats what it sounds like to me

  • Yeah i like satriani, hes great

  • That was awesome! I like how you went back to the start of your solo and worked back into it well done!! Hats off to you!

  • You can really tell he is using a major pentatonic pattern since his improv is very upbeat and gung-ho. Nevertheless that was really good!

  • teach me some of those licks dude!

  • Damn you got some nice licks! i got to take some from ya! haha

  • i will jam with you any day. hmm u remind me of richie sambora. is the pentatonic scale ur most comfortable scale to play out of? or ur fave

  • Hey!, thanks man sambora is a gr8 guitarrist, one of my favorites. I usually use the pentatonic and the 6th mode of the major scale(the minor scale) together because they are the best sounding for rock music i think.

  • is that what your doing in this? or is this straight up pentatonic?

  • that was incredable it was better than eddie van halen =]

  • Dude that was the shit, you should post more of your original music.

  • Yo man, thanks i appreciate it. In the future i will post more videos but right now i'm with another project. But thaks again dude

  • That sounded pretty good. Btw nice metallica poster in background

  • nice man!!! i really liked this i wasnt so positive about your blues improv. You are way beter with rock music

  • or EMG i can't remember what those pickups are called...

  • Yeah, EMG's you're right, 81 for the bridge and 85 for the neck, a zakk wylde kit

  • Do i see ESP's?

  • impresionante!! una limpieza brutal!! el mejor guitarrista que ha salido de cuenca, seguro!!

  • I hear Satriani, too. Great job.

  • Yeah man thats the main influence :). Thanks!

  • Thanks man :), i've been playing many years man. idk, like 8 or 9

  • F'n cool man, was not expecting that. Well good use of that whammy/

  • very nice man

How long do you play guitar?

  • first of all i wanna say i really enjoyed this :P i abslutly did i was feeling like i'm lestning to a track by troy stetina or slash ... bro you're abslutly amazing ABSLUTLY :P i wanna hear your cd man plsss .... by the way i add this to my favourites that's all i can say bro

  • How do you get that warm singing Tone?

    I use a RG350DX with EMG 60 and 81. I also got a Marshall VS100H and a Boss GT-10.

    Any Tips?

  • Idk dude, i recorded this a long time ago.

I use a Mesa Boogie Triaxis, Tc electronics G-major, EQ DOD 231Qx, EMG 81, 85 and original flyd rose ( very important ).

  • where did you get that backtrack ?

  • woah! sounded pretty satriani :D awesome man

  • How do you that Vibrato Bar Action on ~ 1:00 min? I like the effekt but can't figure out how to do that.

  • Hmm lots of soul. thts how you SHOULD play guitar. great job. one of the best ive ever seen. speed isnt guitar playing. sould and feeling is

  • Wow dude u dont know how much I appreciate that comment. Thanks!! :)

  • I completely agree with bubbs, there's too much emphasis on speed these days. the guitar should sing, not run and you definately make it sing.

  • Reminds me of old Satriani and Vai flavour. Good shredding!

  • Yep, thats pretty much what i was trying to do. Thanks! :)

  • fucking great!

  • thats cool its in my ffavorites ! keep rockin!

  • Awesome! Nice and clean.
