  • I have 6 bottles left from 2006, and just had one for the Super Bowl in Feb,

and it's still fantastic! Props on your Cubs gear, as I live in Chicago! Cheers!

  • I have 6 more left from 2006 and had one during the Super Bowl, and its still fantastic! Have you reviewed the RARE, yet?

  • I bought 4 of the 08 BCS recently and I tried my first one last night. EXCELLENT! Can't wait to try a fresh one.

  • Just had a 2008 vintage (was yours a 2007? the label is the same as the 2008)

This reminded me a lot of Dogfish Head World Wide Stout. I'm not a fan of these extreme beers but this was pretty good. I didn't love it though.

Cubs fan eh? my condolences. LOL

  • I just had my first Bourbon County Stout and it's funny that you mention Bell's Expedition Stout, because that's exactly what it tastes like to me. Bell's Expedition Stout is one of my favorite beers, so needless to say, I loved the Bourbon County Stout. I also agree with you that the beer needs to be aged, since it does seem a little boozy, which is not surprising with its 13% ABV. I enjoyed your review, and I'm not saying that only because I'm a fellow Cubs fan ;) !

  • Just got 2 bottles of the 09 this week, should i wait till april.may to open or should i wait till next year?

  • I think you should drink one now and take notes on what you thought. Then let the other one sit until this time next year and do the same thing. You'll see that it's a lot more drinkable after a year. But if you want to be punched in the face with Bourbon (which isi totally okay), then you'll prefer it now while it's young.

  • Thanks for the shout out. I agree with this beer needing to be aged for a year or more. Although despite the heat, I think that this beer is great as sipper once its warmed up to the desired temperature.

  • I think I had the oatmeal stout once before somewhere. And I will tell you that if you don't like Imperial Stouts, stay away from this one. It's insanely over the top. Almost like a Double IRS.

  • Have you ever had their oatmeal stout? I thought it was really good. Not a big fan of imperial stouts but this sounds like it's worth a try.
