Fabulous. The pace and clarity make it one of the best Messiah videos on Youtube. The voice sections are perfectly balanced and talented. And the English pronunciation is very good for Portuguese speakers. Handel would have approved, I'm sure. And the pathos in the second stanza is palpable. Wow.
Well done! I like that it is so clean & crisp - does not drag but drives forward - I'd almost say it 'swings'! I think Handel himself said about his English audiences "They like to beat their feet in time with the music" I know I do! Again, Well done!
Not stubborn enough. Should have been something like "All - We - Li-K-e Shee-Pugh" and I don't get the feeling of frustration from them. Not saying they did everything wrong, no, they were great; however, it just the little things that really bother me.
I'm probably going to cause an international incident, but this group (singing in a foreign language) did a much better job, both musically and with pronunciation, than the Händel Society of Buenos Aires singing the same piece (also available on YouTube).
