A peace organization does have the potential to stimulate the entire worlds economy but its a long term investment that noone will ever participate in.
Take Africa alone. Eliminate the power struggle eventually with a proper government you have the buying power of nearly 1 billion to stimulate the corporate entity of the world.

Theres a reason they call it a rat race, because those who choose to participate in it to the highest degree are labeled vermin. They say its just business, but that statement was created to disconnect conscious feelings, so they can sleep at night. Not all owners are rich; mom and pop shops tell that tale. Give people a chance, and if they fail then theres nobody to blame but themselves. But people arent getting that chance, and thats why this country is in the state it is today.

I understand what youre saying, but as a person who knows how it feels to be poor, I have to disagree. Maybe its not about sharing wealth, as it is sharing opportunity. There are many people who try hard to have a better life, but are held back because people, who have come before them become comfortable in their spot and dont want to lose it. Capitalism is designed for greed, which spawns competition, causing nasty clashes instead of respecting your fellow man.

I agree the war has put us into debt, but those military contracts only benefited those who had their hands in the pot. However, certain/small forms of socialism DOES help us everyday.
Police, Firemen, Hospitals, etc. That is a form of socialism, because we don't pay a one-shot fee for everytime we need them. We pay a steady tax for that, even if we don't need them at the time.
Banks and car makers don't need a bailout, we saw how they treated that money. But people do need help.

Why does peace have to be for profit for it to be popular? The statement Fleetwood makes is somewhat of a contradiction because profit requires exploitation of labor and exploitation is not a peaceful endeavor.

1. We wanted both sides of the Iraq Iran War to lose. "Aid" was given so that both sides because we wanted both regimes to be weakened or destroyed as a result of the war.

3. We gave Afghans weapons to fight the Soviets. Not all of them were Taliban. Besides, the Taliban mainly use Russian weaponry like AK rifles and RPGs. They also use improvised explosive devices they make themselves.

It seems the money system inevitably leads to war and monopoly. I think a Resource Based economy is where the world needs to head. Just Google it. Scarcity is always going to breed conflict.

I don't claim to understand every single suicidal person who has access to explosives. But I think it would be ignorant to assume that simply being nice would cause it all to stop. Strong defense, an efficient intelligence network and well thought out security could have prevented every major attack we've had. But then what would we have done with all those cool bombs??

The reason the terrorists want to kill us is because they want to force their militant interpretation of a religion onto others and are willing to kill anyone who disagrees with their interpretation. This wasn't brought upon us by some "military industrial complex." We fight because we value our lives, our freedoms, our country, and our allies and are willing to defend all of it. Also, the a-bomb wasn't a pandora's box. It was done to prevent the deaths of many American troops.

If you're assuming that I'm in the military, I'm not. I will be upon graduating college and I'll be joining to help my country. As for the government, I don't like many of the politicians in the government since they're making things worse for the people and refuse to help enable the people to support themselves so I'm not advocating putting complete trust in government officials at all. I'm just saying the enemy just wants to kill dissenters and the enemy even admitted it.

I agree, the powers that be- motivate and convince the masses through a perpetual fear based system that is aimed at our basic insecurities. I believe the answer isn't about changing the behavior of the control freaks as much as it is not allowing others to manipulate us by pushing fear buttons. Fear and insecurities only exist within - individually and collectively we must transcend the fear programing.
