Just for the record- this tune is indelibly associated with Bill Evans ostinato version that was also reworked by him into the original tune Peace Piece. Nevertheless,this introspective tune it is was actually written for the play (and cut from the from the film version of) "On the Town" by Leonard Bernstein with lyrics by the prolific duo of Betty Comden & Adolph Green.

I never heard this song until Six Feet Under and it's now one of my favourite songs. I keep watching this. Lovely. x
