The red mech with the rotary ac is indeed an atlas for sure. That is the final incarnation of the Atlas as witnessed by WizKids' tabletop game of mechwarrior. Specifically, that is the exact paint scheme used by the Exarch of the Republic of the Sphere.

A mechwarrior movie has recently been confirmed to have entered production, but the smacktards over at robotech are sueing AGAIN for copyright infringement (wasn't that crap settled in the 80's? let it go already).

@Frday101 long long ago, there was a big arguement because some of the mechs are very similar. there are a handful that are pretty much the same between the two franchises. I think it ended up that there was a modeler who had made mechs for both companies taht were nearly identicle. They fought over which side had the rights and it was a big mess. The issue comes up every time one or the other tries to use one of those similar mechs in a game/project.

We need to develope the myomar synthetic fiber. mechs were be the byproduct of medical testing that didnt pan out for medical use initially, but rather showed up in industrial applications, such as construction and materials transportation. It took them hundreds of years to make the first combat suitable mechs, and hundreds more to minaturize the technology to the point that it could be used as it was originaly intended, which was as a synthetic muscle tissue.

Start at the begining, star league is the real legend. i do agree with you, but a trip around youtube will show, noone knows of the legend behind the legends... which makes a persom trashing a garrage much less what we see it as and more like a random you tube video. there is more than enough to work with, and sense trillogy's are the thing nowdays... start at the begining and end at the exodus. then do the assention wars- ending with the return of the clans. then do the clans return to the IS

Don't get me wrong, I love Battle tech big time. But you see the problem about these series is, that they already have a huge fan base. There is a lot of money made with it etc. which is why they can make quite good animations.

Battletech however is sorta underground and I think such a series would fail since it would concentrate too much on characters and not on story, besides it wouldn't have a great budget and therewith bad quality....

I sort of agree with you but good stories are very character driven. Battletech is rich with characters like General Kerensky and Victor SteinerDavion, or Aiden Pryde. I recommend you read the Legend of the Jade Phoenix Trilogy. It is my favorite battletech novel and if anything. In my opinion it has the best plot line and character base of any battletech fiction. It covers most clan and inner sphere history from the exodus to Tukyyid.

This is a trailer for a student film from DAVESchool based off Mechwarrior: Age of Destruction (which takes place nearly 100 years after the current Battletech books and Mechwarrior series of video games) the Mech at 00:13 is a MadCat MKIV (yes... 4) the chain-gun mech is the new Atlas design... and other mechs I see are the Mangonel, Jackalope (the bunch of tiny mechs jumping out of the jumpship), a Battlemaster, Madcat, and Thunder Fox (the quad-mech)
