He was in a critical medical condition, that is way we stop the show. To all those who can provide us your support, please call me: 646-479-5162. The family would appreciate it. • I've seen him at Penn station many times. Only in NY

  • I saw him countless times in NY during 6 years- I was always amazed by his style and music and his dancing toys. Thanks Maestro!

  • bizarre

  • he transformed himself as if the music was flowing out of his fingertips, what he plays now is nothing compared to what he used to. I just wish I could see him again.

  • I am afraid nobody or very few people really appreciated what we had among us. I can say I had the honor to have met the Professor, it has been kind of a shock to see him so old, (the last time I saw him was in the early 70's) but I am glad to see there are people out there who still appreciate good things. It is a pity though that nobody can see him playing in a grand piano, one of his famous pieces like Rachmaninoff or even Tchaikovsky,

  • he decided to bring "the music out" for everyone to enjoy it, so he took the symphonic orchestra to the parks. At the beginning they would only play some of the most renowned pieces and then little by little he would introduce more serious music and opera pieces as well. He was a very humble person, a great "maestro" who never forgot his roots and had a deep passion for music and for sharing it with his countrymen. As the saying goes "nobody is a preacher in its own land"

  • You talk about him like he's dead. LOL. I saw the guy the other day and said hi. THanks for the history, though. I had no idea. He sits down now but he's still a fighter coming back day in and day out despite his health. I have a new respect for him now that you said all that stuff. Go Professor!

  • I met Prof. Alvarado around the 60's when he had just arrived in Guayaquil, Ecuador after studying conducting in Moscow, at that time, The Soviet Union. There he won the Tchaikovsky price of excellence, I beleive was one of the highest in those days. As it happens in under developed countries, there were very few people who knew about classical music, I would say only the upper classes did, so that being the case that most people could not afford paying for a theater ticket

  • Wow Interesting where was this and My mom is from Guayaquil by the way!!!

  • This genteleman is a NY Legend

Do the right thing when you see him say "Hi" & Drop a Buck or two,, into the Bucket...

People like this make NY City !!!!!!!

  • I was gonna say didn't this guy used to have a chair, but its next to the pillar behind him.

  • This man has a special integrity that even Bush can't hold a candle to.

  • Someone had to bring up politics in a subway musician video. Only on Youtube!

  • The problem with New Yorkers is that a large majority of them are ignorant European people with a peasant attitude gained from ignorance and a strong familial bond to mom which enables them to live life as sheltered individuals. That is in itself a crime because New Yorkers tend to justify crimes and faulty decision making based on bing shelterd as a child. Are you from NY G702TT?

  • blah blah blah

  • Sounds like someone is from a provincial backwater town. Why bother living if your not going to explore your world!

  • My last exploration ended with a laser blast to the opening of the spaceship as I was entering SlaveOne.

sounds like someone doesnt realize NYC is the provincial backwater town of the new millenium.

    Escape from New York.

  • Great performance. This is the stuff that inspires many children to dream and to be happy.

  • Holy crap, this guy used to direct orchestras and he's been reduced to performing circus music on the 42nd Street Subway Station....atleast the dolls look happy.

  • I don't believe that orchestra crap. This is carnival/circus music!

  • i love him!

  • that is sooo cute!!!!

  • holly fuck Chuck is back !!:))))))))))))
