I just saw another video of yours and i just figured that the town you lived in (or live in, i dont know) it's on the coast, i mean there's beach there. So, forget about "there's no beach" part in my other comment.
Why did you decide to go to the Minas Gerais's state countryside?
I dont know if in the city you stayed had lot of places to go or to visit, but i guess in some states of Brazil, some coutryside's towns people usually dont have too much places to go. I mean to have fun, like clubs, beach, etc.
Have you visited some other city else?
By the way, im brazilian.

Wow sorry I never responded lol - I actually lived no where near the beach, and yes my town was very small and didn't have much to do. But I got to really know brazilian people, e por isso eu amei minha cidade :) I didn't actually get a choice in where I went. I did get to travel quite a bit around brazil, spent a few weeks in Rio and traveled up the coast a lot too - overall I had an amazing time on exchange and I wouldn't change anything about it!
all schools are like that :)
