He was one of the luchadors from Mexico that WCW brought in in the late '90s (actually, he was in ECW first, then went to WCW) along with Rey Misterio and others, mainly to be in the cruiserweight division. Just like the other smaller wrestlers, however, they had good moments but mainly jobbed to guys like Nash, Hall, Steiner, etc.
I think it was funny how Konan brought up RVD, Rey Mysterio, and Booker-T and they all have been very successful in WWE haha. He called Jim Ross part of the "Texas Clique" but he's from Oklahoma. He should've used other names like Johnny stamboli or something.

I'm just saying, it would be awesome. ONce a year, listen to the fans, see what they want.

500 characters is too little space to state what truly is wrong with pro wrestling at this stage of the game. Wrestling shouldn't go totally "old school", but to continue in the direction it's headed is a recipe for disaster. Bringing back Flair and Hogan is just a band-aid. They need to stop copying each other's gimmicks and come up with something original (and entertaining) because both TNA and WWE spend too much time cutting promos and not enough time wrestling.
I'd like to see Konnan start his own federation .. or at least be a booker for TNA. If you could put a booking team together of Konnan and Paul E and maybe even Bisch just for the strong business acumen I think your company would destroy.

John Cena is nowhere near that bad at all. He's actually better than most WWE wrestlers on the mic and in the ring too, especially compared to the new guys like Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. But yeah, I do agree that WWE is hurting right now and definitely not as good as it used to be years ago during the "Attitude Era". Plus, they lowered their rating from TV-14 to TV-PG so they're catering more to younger kids now which sucks for the older "old school" wrestling fans.

You and I may hate that Vince is marketing towards kids more and more these days, but it's really a sound strategy when you get down to it - get 'em young, as the saying goes.

Don't think theres much point in going back after that. I mean, what other good potential feuds and matches do they have left? None..............
I dunno... if they do what they've done with John Morrison (i.e. built him up with excellent matches against the likes of Edge and Rey Mysterio, and put some gold on him to show they want to push him higher) to some of their younger talent, they might just be able to rejuvenate their product (I personally think Ted DiBiase has it in him to be at least an Intercontinental champ, since his in-ring work is great, and he's brilliant on the mic).

I like some of the performers in TNA - I think A J Styles has a fantastic in-ring style, and Daffney's Knockout matches always kick ass - but Vince Russo seriously needs to be kicked out, and some competent writers brought in. The younger wrestlers in TNA apparently hate the guy. They think - rightfully - that he's just a relic from the Monday Night Wars, and should be put down like a mad dog, and fast.
Can't say I disagree, really. If they don't, TNA is just going to flounder in the #2 spot...

500 characters is too little space to state what truly is wrong with pro wrestling at this stage of the game. Wrestling shouldn't go totally "old school", but to continue in the direction it's headed is a recipe for disaster. Bringing back Flair and Hogan is just a band-aid. They need to stop copying each other's gimmicks and come up with something original (and entertaining) because both TNA and WWE spend too much time cutting promos and not enough time wrestling.

Conan is 100% correct. The one part I hate about wrestling is poiltics. For example, Drew Mcyntire is HHH favorite and you see what push they are given him. Why do you think HHH is so over? John Cena is nowhere near that bad at all. He's actually better than most WWE wrestlers on the mic and in the ring too, especially compared to the new guys like Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. But yeah, I do agree that WWE is hurting right now and definitely not as good as it used to be years ago during the "Attitude Era". Plus, they lowered their rating from TV-14 to TV-PG so they're catering more to younger kids now which sucks for the older "old school" wrestling fans.

You and I may hate that Vince is marketing towards kids more and more these days, but it's really a sound strategy when you get down to it - get 'em young, as the saying goes.
I mean, John Cena can't even deliver credible punches, but the kids love his merchandise. If Cena generates money while still drawing "X-Pac heat" from the hardcore fans, Vince won't give two chunks of monkey crap what we think.
It's sad, but it's also undeniably true :(

Which is why we, as unsatisfied wrestling fans who need our fix, should just boycott the WWE completely and either turn to ROH or just stick to watching old ECW dvd's or Japan.
Seriously, I only ever tune into WWE when it looks like they have something good going on and the best thing they've had going this year so far was HBK/Taker at Wrestlemania. Don't think theres much point in going back after that. I mean, what other good potential feuds and matches do they have left? None..............

I dunno... if they do what they've done with John Morrison (i.e. built him up with excellent matches against the likes of Edge and Rey Mysterio, and put some gold on him to show they want to push him higher) to some of their younger talent, they might just be able to rejuvenate their product (I personally think Ted DiBiase has it in him to be at least an Intercontinental champ, since his in-ring work is great, and he's brilliant on the mic).
As it is... they're on pretty thin ice.

I like some of the performers in TNA - I think A J Styles has a fantastic in-ring style, and Daffney's Knockout matches always kick ass - but Vince Russo seriously needs to be kicked out, and some competent writers brought in. The younger wrestlers in TNA apparently hate the guy. They think - rightfully - that he's just a relic from the Monday Night Wars, and should be put down like a mad dog, and fast.
Can't say I disagree, really. If they don't, TNA is just going to flounder in the #2 spot...
