Done a video response to this, I have never had this issue with my LG, it doesn't even slightly shudder even at 1400 rpm. Mine is on a solid concrete floor though.
@DeanJB7 the problem is that we live in a mobile home, and of course the floor of our washer room is not very solid. The feet are also level if you're wondering. Other people seem to have similar problem, where they just don't have a solid base available at home to support the machine (very important for a front loader). This fix may help reduce the vibrations for such people as it does for us.
@spencer19811 - hey, retard. I have a brand new LG washer and it has been completely leveled, several times in the last 2 days we have owned it and it takes off like a bull in a china shop every time it spins, so stop sticking your nose in and being rude when you don't know what you're talking about. GOOD FOR YOU that yours didn't do this... the piece of garbage is going back to the store in this case.
@keltoid hey retard? thats a good way to start an argument you are about to lose. I have been a service engineer for 10 years on these things, now i run one of the largest service centres in the country. Millions is spent engineering these washers, and every time this occurs it is always an installation problem, ie: crap wooden flooring/ feet not levelled. Good luck taking yours back, they will tell you exactly what i would say. There is fuck all wrong with it, and you are not getting a refund.
If a normal machine does not have that much vibrations, then the cause of excessive vibrations must be identified and corrected. Vibrations is annoying, but it might break some parts in the machine !
As someone who sold these washers and a front loader owner a few comments. One, if your washer is unlevel it will vibrate drastically. Leveling feet can fix this problem. Two, if you don't have your washer in the basement or first floor it can be a huge issue because many older houses weren't designed to handle the force these make. One customer complained the whole house shook. Generally after a few weeks the machine will 'settle in' and you should have continual problems.
I have a 1 year old LG front load washer. It has shaken the whole house since day one. It was professionally installed. I have had professional service people come out twice. There is NO fix. They shake like crazy. LG recommends you install them on concrete floors. Impossible in my 1 story house. I won't be buying any LG front load washers ever again.
Forget about all of those gadgets and pads. Go to the local drug or department store and pick up a swim noodle of the color of your choice and your done.
The only change i made was to cut the noodle in small sections and wedge them in between the wall and the washer, the washer and the dryer and the dryer and the wall. Putting the noodle sections inbetween length-wise enables you to custom fit them no matter what the gap size is between your machines.
a bit of vibration is quite normal. Only the very cheap models vibrate too much. I have absolutely no clue why only americans have problems with it. Europeans use these kind of washers for 50 years now and there are no problems. You need to buy high quality products which means 1000 dollar ore more! My 18 years old miele washer (high end brand) vibrates too but dosen't matter cause it's located in the basement.
your close if not on on to it . make the doors work for you and if you put the machine in center of the room the vibration would dissapate more favorably in 360 deg area and unload the torque converter energy easily . hench if you put a brick wall up against ONE SIDE of a sinning propeler the sound refelcts to the other side perhapse the energy stored ( torgue converter ) will do the same thing?
Our older Maytag Neptune had NOT vibration problems because they used a water ballast. Our LG is a POORLY designed unit. Your fix is a BANDAID at best, Put you best china on the other side of the wall and video tape that for us! Good try but no cigar. We need a class action suit started. WHY WOULD A COMPANY ALLOW A PIECE OF CRAP TO BE SOLD BEFORE THEY IMPROVED IT IS BEYONE ME!
@ttmich ........why do they have to be so difficult. Mine just turned her nose up. Looks like a nice, simple and straight forward approach. I guess I will put plywood under machine and reinforce joist/sub-floor, but I'm not so convinced that will do it.
My child has these foam things that I tried, it did not work. This would help if your trying to prevent noise of the washer hitting the dryer next to it, but the motion and noise is transferred from the washer to the floor. I bought the "Good Vibrations" foot pads cause they seemed to be the best ones, but it only helped a little. I would say the good vibrations helped about 30%-40%.
Another thing to try is placing the washer on top of a sheet of plywood, thus strengthening the floor support. Please see video 4MXt6G1ByLA (it's the second recommended video link in the "more info" secion in the upper right).
@jbravo70 , did you try this fix? And if so, and vibrations are still occurring, have you checked that you had removed the shipping bolts from the back? (Please see the second recommended video in the upper right "more info" box).
I've included a "before/after" video to show the benefits of foam dampening for the washer. Click on my name, and look for the before/after video in the list of my videos (video 5NbXIVIcA2g).
Yes, it should work for it. It's easy to try as you can see. Also make sure that her washer is level, with all four of its feet firmly planted on the floor.
good idea!!! you can find it in dollar store too :)

Good idea! I have a flat tire that shakes my car. Now I know it only needs a couple of swimming noodles to prevent it from shaking hard.
No more search for the reason, you saved my day. Thanks a lot!
Dont forget to reinforce your wall....

Level the feet you retard. That's why they are adjustable.
Actually you're right, putting some stupid bright Orange tubes in between it is a much better idea.

Forgot to mention, wedge the foam along the sides, using the foam's own stiffness to hold it in place.
