Phoenix lost that series.
Also, Phoenix had the best record of all 7 teams in the 87 lottery. Then getting the #2 overall pick is hardly screwing them.

Doesn't look like a smirk to me. It just looks like hes trying to open the envelope. Notice that he frequently struggles with it for a second or two.
Also, even though it has the Knicks picture on it (because it is based on their record) the pick belongs to Seatlle because of a trade that had already occurred.

after the conspiracy of david stern fixing the '85 draft lottery to get the knicks with the top pick. i find it interesting how right before he opens the knicks envelope he looks over at the gm's and gives a little smile

Man, I feel bad for Phoenix. They were denied a franchise center for the second time in 18 years(they also lost the coin flip for Kareem in 69).
