  • Canadian Rockies are more spectacular than anything in US, only the Swiss alps can compare, and train is such a fantastic way too see this! As in Switzerland I had so much more fun when not using the car at all! You will almost get addicted to train travel when seeing such wonderful places while travelling with train...Banff and Jasper and Yoho are all such great places. And this video is still nothing compared to the reality! Lake Louise is the most awesome lake I've ever seen.

  • this is going to be my graduation present. this seems so beautiful. way better than plane, car or boat.

  • Doing this next week in GoldLeaf. Where going from Calgary to Vancouver instead of the other way around.

  • @Daniel7681 Great trip! Enjoy it all. And thanks for writing in

  • Could be..and thanks for the compliment, and for writing in. Cheers

  • I believe it's the "World's" largest Redeo (not just Canada's). Nice narration!

  • how much is it

  • I would love to go on that trip one day

  • It's still too bad The Canadian was cut 20 years ago.

  • Great video. Canada is very beautiful!!

  • Thanks for writing. Glad you enjoyed it and appreciate your comments!

  • I wish I am paid like USD$20,000 a month! I'll be travelling 3-4 times a year in utter luxury!

  • Strange comment! How else to see the beauty? Thanks for writinbg

  • If you want to the magnificient Rockies in the dark...travel VIA rail. If you want to actually SEE them...travel on the Rocky Mountaineer.

  • Sounds good. Thanks for writing!

  • Good for you. Thanks for writing.

  • Train travel should not only be for the uber-rich. Lets all continue to support Canada's national passenger rail system, VIA Rail Canada !!!

  • I think we agree with aliciawaters below: both VIA and Rocky are exceptional, but each serves a different function. It may be that Rocky is very expensive, but it's not an every day event, whereas VIA may well be.

Thanks to getchasumm and aliciawaters for writing in

  • GREAT train ride for sure.

I suggest the lower cost trip just in case you get some bad weather conditions. You wont get that panoramic view, but you wont fell completely ripped off at the end either... =)

  • And again, with no misspellings I hope, I have passed this comment on too. These are all important observations and need to be shared with the company...a value of these kinds of community, video-based exchanges. Thanks

  • One problem here. And it is a BIG ONE.

If there is overcast, rain or fog, You just PAID a LOT of money for no view AT ALL.

Seriously, for LESS money than a ONE(1) day train ride ,you can go from Calgary to Dominican Republic and four(4) nights.

It is very nice, but VERY expensive for one day trip AND IF you get bad weather conditions you see NOTHING AT ALL. If you want that panoramic view, it COSTS additional.

Risky and PRICY trip here, even for a Train lover.

  • Very good point. I have passes yuor comment on to the appropriate people at Rocky Mountaineer. Thanks for writing.

  • Amazing trip!

I travelled with VIA. It was not nearly as nice.

    Beautiful!

  • Here too I have passed your comment on to the pr and marketing people. I'm sure they'll be very pleased.

  • We're glad to bring a chuckle to your day. Keep watching our Travel Video Postcards.

  • "Not quite hee-haw, but close enough."

    That made me chuckle.

  • Great...I'll pass your comment on!

  • My wife and I did it in 2005. It's just unbelievable -- especially to someone from Australia! Would I do it again? You betcha!

  • VIA is very good, no doubt. But VIA offeres a very different exxperience. Rocky is a tour train with rather special in-train, first class service. Both are great but different. Thanks for writing.

  • Via Rail Canada is better! These guys are a private service which thinks they OWN Canadian rails. And Via is AFFORDABLE to the avg. Canadian traveller !

  • Yes VIA is average for the average traveller. If you want that extra experience then travel with Rocky.

I have taken both trains and the service was not nearly comparable.

Thanks though but my dollar and word of mouth will always stick with that tour.
