The reason why SUVs are better at off roading is because they have weight on the back wheels. Pickup trucks have practically zero weight on the back wheels, so they can't get any traction back there.
@komakoziman I had a 2000 xterra as well. that thing was sweet! Too bad I leased it. I bought an '02 ranger and brakes and rotors on this thing is a nightmare. Lookin to get rid of it and may get a new xterra. imho, I like the look of the 2000 xterra better than the new one though
I have a 5 speed, 3.0 liter and 35" Pitbull Rockers on it and a 4.10 Ford 8.8 axle. Not very fast at all unless I wanna get hectic. Thats what the juice is for, lol.

Xterra has a great power to weight ratio,my X still climbs great even with armor underneath. I think people would be more respectful and familiar with Nissan if the Patrol was still imported. Anyway I will be doing 140 miles of Mojave Road this weekend, unlike mall crawlers and human excrement like godlumpy.
