I'm a fellow firefighter and we sadly lost one of our own last year! This hits home! I am truelly sorry for your departments loss! We are all bothers and sisters, it hit home for me! REST IN PEACE FALLEN BROTHER!!!!
Blessings to his family and his brothers and family of the fire station. As a NYSE , I pray I to will pass doing the job given taken God has has given me. I know god was was with that day , and they watch over us , keeping us safe from above.
Heart attack and stress-related injuries are the #1 killer of firefighters. It's tough, fast paced work in a hot, toxic environment wearing heavy and hot gear. Stay safe bothers and sisters.
Lieutenant Thomas J. O'Boyle, administrative assistant to the Chicago Fire Commissioner died September 26, 1995 at the 3-11 alarm fire at 3128 West Grand Avenue. He had just finished relaying a message to Squad 2 from the Commish to pick up and head to a second 2-11 alarm fire that was burning at 24th and Wood. He was pronounced at 2:03 pm. It was his 55th birthday.
This is a really powerful video. Not only does it show the stuff firefighters have to do but it shows the brotherhood they share. Thanks for posting. R.I.P. To all of the fallen
@LeBullshitDetector Have some fucking respect you piece of shit. What does it matter if he was large. He died in the line of duty trying to help save assholes like you. You probably arent even a firefighter. Douchebag.
@LeBullshitDetector Your comment was so heartless. He has family and friends and fellow firefighters who loves him dearly and for you to say such things are completely hurtful and coldblooded.
@LeBullshitDetector please ur prob just upset becuase the "fat fucker" is loved and gonna be missed by many but you well already 2,000 people want you to go to hell so ya go to hell asshole
A sobering reminder that Jakes need to be more mindful of their diet and activities between runs. A good healthy diet and regimented workout program makes emergencies like this less of a shock to the body and more importantly the heart. RIP Brother.
It looks as if it was an older firefighter, probably a chief, who was not really doing anything physical, he just had a heart attack. They say firefighters have a high rate of heart attacks. It just goes to show you how stressful that environment can be!
always remember the fallen who give tere lives to help us.NEVER forget thoes who left us on 9-11, thanks to all firefighters you rick all every time you respond.
Every American should call their Congressman and ask them to support The Fire Sprinkler Incentive Act of 2009 (H.R. 1194) The complete total cost of fire is estimated at $317 billion, or roughly 2.8% of
U.S. gross domestic product.(2008) The greater cost is OUR Firefighters lives: 114 in 2007 Pressure Congress to pass this bill and not squash it as done in previous years!
I was at this fire with the Salvation Army cantten truck that responded. Amazingly, I had just talked to him, maybe 30 minutes before this happened after we got on scene.
The firefighter was the the fire commissioner's driver/aide, and was going to notify another chief of a 2nd 3-11 alarm fire that was occuring south of this fire..
R.I.P my bro see you on the big one
