  • For everyone who is confused on what type of frosting this is, its a swiss meringue buttercream sometimes called whipped icing. whipped icing to most people is made with heavy whipping cream, sugar and flavoring. hope this helps.

  • Hey, just wanted to stop by and say your cakes are great, i had a slice of one of your wedding cakes it was very good great taste , the icing is very nice .....being a sugar artist my self your work is beautiful and yummy.Oh by the way for those poeple who don't get it it is a whipped icing because she had to whip egg whites in it .The term whipped has nothing to do with none-dairy products...

  • @FayL8183 You can get shortening in the UK, the brand is generally called Trex and you can buy it from Tesco

  • Should've titled this buttercream icing. Normally people think whipped cream if it's titled whipped icing, not buttercream...even though they use nasty shortening. I've never used shortening. Just a cheap way to make the stuff, how gross.

  • @honeygodoo9 crisco is a brand name for shortening. you could also just use 2lb of butter if you wanted and no shortening.

  • I did all of thAT but it didn't come out good. after I added everything toguether my icing just became watery it did not work for me. and yeah we need the measurements.

  • I have made it with just cool whip, powdered sugar, and yogurt. I let it sit for a day or two in the fridge to thicken and then put it on my cakes. It is delicious!

  • Ok. Here are the measurements I use in my shop. Everything is by weight. For a small batch dissolve 1lb of sugar in 8 oz of egg whites.

    cream 2lb 2 oz of butter (or sub 1 lb of shortening for 1lb butter if it is hot in your region) with 8 oz of powdered sugar & 2 tsp of vanilla.

    I hope this helps.

  • angela giles if our going to make a video of how to make whipped frosting you should give out measurements of ingredients. otherwise why bother.
