Robert Hewitt Wolfe left, Rev Bem left, Tyr Anasazi left, they restored the Commonwealth and then ran from the Commonwealth, Trance became Xena Warrior Princess, they ran out of budget so they recycled sets and did the whole Seefra arc. By that time it had gradually devolved into Kevin Sorbo's Hercules in Space.
ive just started to see andromeda (amazing how the old shows are the best), cant believe the theme changed in season 2 though, why!!!!!!!!!!! the s1 theme was something so original, no other theme from any other show had anything like it. now its just an ordinary boring one not voiced by kevin sorbo :(

And the Commonwealth spanned 3 galaxies, not including the 4th they were starting to explore, when they came across the Magog.

Have you read RHW's one-act play called Coda? It lays out the direction that he would have taken the show had he stayed on. So much cooler than that weird Seefra is Tarn-Vedra thing they did in season 5.
Yeah, me and my siblings watched it regularly every friday when it first came out, then when I started again recently, the newer episodes sucked compared to the first ones.
the producers should ahve stuck with this theme for the entire series run kind of gave the show some identity that made it stand out from other sci-fi shows. the replacement sounded too much like every other sci-fi theme.

I'm Scottish and this definitely resembles the stirring sound of a massed pipe band so no wonder it gets the adrenaline pumping.
I downloaded an mp3 the original Alex Lifeson track but it only lasts a minute and imo not as good as this excellent version.
I agree they should have kept this music for the entire run it WAS very distinctive.
btw you can watch series 1 and 2 for free on blinkbox and they are some of the best and most original sci-fi I've ever seen and I wish they'd revive it.
i want them to go all out but in animation, so they can do the full range of aliens, and i don't mean movie like i mean like attack of the clones (series) or something of the like that is fully sustainable and fleshable

True if you've seen the movie District 9 the alien roaches represent the Africans. What I would like to personally see is the human struggle to the point to where we finally see each other as equals. Star Trek has come close, but not completely there. In that universe it was a great series of wars and then the discovery of warp technology.That is what I love about SciFi the possibilities are endless.Yet we haven't found that happy ending for all humanity. Babylon 5 is correct in many instances.
Lets just be honest. Minorities period are under represented in SciFi. In Gundam 00 the main character is muslim and how long did it take for that to happen? Have we seen that many Pacific Islanders represented in SciFi? If anything what SciFi affords us to do is to be able to explore humanity. That is the greatest gift we have with this genre. We can look at technology and how are we going to use it to benefit humanity and how it can be destructive. We need to get back to our roots.
No you are not being an asshole. The truth is that there are a lot of minority actors for parts like this, but they are under utilized. It goes into who is writing the story and who do they get to be the hero of the story. If someone writes a SciFi centered around a minority its a rare event. What is needed are more minority writers who love SciFi and are willing to write impeccable SciFi for a new generation.

LMAO!!! Why does the Black man in all the space tv shows play the same role? Worf (Star Trek: The Next Generation ), Teal'c (Stargate SG-1), Ronon (Stargate: Atlantis), Tyr (Andromeda) and Tuvok (Voyager). These MF's play the same role on all the shows. They're mean, strong, fighters, ruthless and when ever they suggest somethin its always the wrong course of action. COME ON!!!!!

I agree with you to a point, but you are forgetting DS9 with Capt. Sisko. If it weren't for him the Federation would've been fucked up in the Dominion War. It was a black man who saved the Federation in Star Trek not Capt. Picard or Capt. Janeway. I do agree Black Men do need to be represented better in SciFi and that we are put in too many stereotype roles though, but maybe we need to write the books.
Captain Sisko was awesome. Still, Season 3 or 4, episode 'The Visitor,' showed that even without Sisko the Dominion would not have won the war. My overall impression was that Sisko's involvement wasn't necessary for victory, but did make victory less costly and better.

He had a controlling interest in the show due to being Hercules. He didn't like March of the High Guard and had it replaced with Dylan's Theme with a voice over that only talks about him. Also due to cat fights with the creators ruined Tyr Anasazi to the point that KHB left the show because his character was ruined. Turned into a scheming coward from that mighty Nietzschean.
I believe so. Though at the same time, Wolfe was replaced by the guy who wrote f--king SeaQuest. So the series was definitely going to go downhill. For what was originally supposed to happen down the line see "Coda" by Wolfe.

I think it is fair to say that the series ended and that is the last of it.
From the way it ended, I seriously doubt there will be a movie, since there is no more Abyss. But a lot of storylines were left open...

No you are not being an asshole. The truth is that there are a lot of minority actors for parts like this, but they are under utilized. It goes into who is writing the story and who do they get to be the hero of the story. If someone writes a SciFi centered around a minority its a rare event. What is needed are more minority writers who love SciFi and are willing to write impeccable SciFi for a new generation.

LMAO!!! Why does the Black man in all the space tv shows play the same role? Worf (Star Trek: The Next Generation ), Teal'c (Stargate SG-1), Ronon (Stargate: Atlantis), Tyr (Andromeda) and Tuvok (Voyager). These MF's play the same role on all the shows. They're mean, strong, fighters, ruthless and when ever they suggest somethin its always the wrong course of action. COME ON!!!!!

I agree with you to a point, but you are forgetting DS9 with Capt. Sisko. If it weren't for him the Federation would've been fucked up in the Dominion War. It was a black man who saved the Federation in Star Trek not Capt. Picard or Capt. Janeway. I do agree Black Men do need to be represented better in SciFi and that we are put in too many stereotype roles though, but maybe we need to write the books.

Captain Sisko was awesome. Still, Season 3 or 4, episode 'The Visitor,' showed that even without Sisko the Dominion would not have won the war. My overall impression was that Sisko's involvement wasn't necessary for victory, but did make victory less costly and better.

He had a controlling interest in the show due to being Hercules. He didn't like March of the High Guard and had it replaced with Dylan's Theme with a voice over that only talks about him. Also due to cat fights with the creators ruined Tyr Anasazi to the point that KHB left the show because his character was ruined. Turned into a scheming coward from that mighty Nietzschean.

I believe so. Though at the same time, Wolfe was replaced by the guy who wrote f--king SeaQuest. So the series was definitely going to go downhill. For what was originally supposed to happen down the line see "Coda" by Wolfe.

HOLD THE LINE... Just finished seaon 5. I'm mad that I didnt give this show a chance when it was on. It was fun. Love BSG but needed a break after that depressofest. Loved this show, Simple and Fun
