AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!! Weill i admit i saw everything and anything from vivica and Ildebrando, musically speaking but DANCING was the last thing i expected to see them do!! Hahahahahahaahah!!!!
Musically wonderful! Vivica is a phenomenon. As for the production... no comments, awful, ridiculous, I don't know why so many European productions have to be like that, and they all look the same, for God's sake, what is that setting!!! Poor taste
Taste is purely subjective, and "modernized," oh sure why the heck not? But what I dont' get is why when such works are "modernized" it has to be such absurdity-- this looks not comical but comic-strip, ridiculous wardrobe and minimalist set. I love the dance at the end, but as with TV and cinema today the editing so choppy as to be all but unwatchable. Are they afriad I'll actually get to SEE Ildebrando cut up the rug?
I don't care for this production's style very much or Vivica's interpretation - it seems a bit cold too me. Too techincal and I', not sure about Corbelli as Don Magnifico. But the others are really good.
Re: Corbelli - he's great in the rest of this, but why did they have to make him sing this part drunkenly? I know it's right after he supposedly got wasted off of wine, but it really affects his intonation, and I don't like it.
This is a wonderful video. I love this version. I have seen several versions by Bartoli, Stade, Larmore and Ganassi, but this version by Genaux i amazing and surprising.
a me piace molto, e poi è cantata divinamente, il fraseggio di Corbelli poi è sensazionale, ma tutti eccellenti

This production is absolutely ridiculous ... would be even for a low level musical embarrassingly ... poor Rossini ...

I saw this production in Stockholm. Most of the staging has nothing to do with the original italian text...
Modern production : YES
Stupid productions : NO

No, I am correct. La Cenerentola has two acts. This sequence concludes the first act.

the staging is from Irina Brook , the daughter of Peter Brook, ok she's french because she borned in paris, but her parents and family are american.
So it's not about European taste.
You don't like this staging, ok but don't put some xenophobic comment please

j'apprécie la couleur du timbre de V Genaux qui se démarque de toutes les mezzo actuelles et me rappelle celui de M. Horne.
