@HipsterFilmsForever I disagree about the reporters. I thought the reporter showed a degree of insight, engagement and enthusiasm with the work that is rare in TV journalism.
As for the work itself, it's obviously a masterpiece, even from the distance of a TV studio and YouTube.
I'm sorry but you completely ignore the esistence of the italian web site cheorae.it I created 5 years ago .
1440 videos one for every minute of the day and each one shooted and recorded in that precise minute. And each video have the answer to the question "Che ora e?" in english "what time is it? " Syncronized originally only for the GMT+1 Time Zone and now expanding to the other Time Zone.
The project is well explained, in italian, on the site.
@mrTimeFreaktony your website is indeed way cool, but you've got to admit that his film is really interesting as well. the both of you have chosen a different approach to time and I like both.
Spent six hours watching this...from 11a-5p at LACMA. Christian is a genius! What a masterpiece! Anyone know where I can see the full (legit) version of "Telephones" (1995)?
I thought exactly the same thing .. so I asked the people from the art gallery where I can find this piece of art, and apparently is not for sale at present.... but could be in future!
I've seen about 6 hours of this work. 2:30-5:15 and 00:10 - 02:50 in a 24 hour screening at new art exchange in nottingham as part of bas7. The best art work of bas7 and possibly of 2010! End jan 8th 2011 at nae Nottingham.
I had to brave a force 9 storm on the ferry from France and delays on the train from Dover to snatch a one-hour viewing at the White Cube before going back again. No regrets.......it was worth it. Truly captivating. I just hope it comes to France soon!
I loved it, thought it was superb and groundbreaking. However he samples Salvador Dali's entire dream sequence from Hitchcock's film Spellbound which has no clocks in it at all. Obviously there is going to be a lot of filler for the moments when they couldn't locate a certain time in the 1000s of films they watched...
I absolutely loved it, but actually it was consistently a minute fast during the showing at Mason's Yard (13/11/10) - it may seem a minor point but I thought it was quite a shame nobody used an accurate watch when starting it given the effort that Christian had gone to in making the sequence keep time so perfectly through the many sequences featured.
Something tells me that there's a lot of clips from "Groundhog Day" around 5:59 - 06:00
