  • i bought the eggs from u followed the instuctions but i noticed that a few hrs into the hatching the eggs are turnig white is this good or bad?

  • where do you buy those eggs from?

  • @mustangmike420 Usually online...aquabid or ebay.

  • can you put them in your gumbo?

  • also where do you buy the brine fish eggs?

  • @rexlink1

I had a hard time finding them in retail stores but found them in like a little vial at a pet supply store called Southern Agriculture. I'm sure they can be ordered on line in greater quantities though.

  • so lets say i want to keep the brine shrimp alive i used some really old eggs and didn't even expect them to hatch but some did not very many but some did how would i separate the eggs that didn't hatch and the eggs that did hatch from the baby brine shrimp? the brine shrimp are so thinly laid out that the water is not orange i have seen some baby brine shrimp though and i dont know how to separate them.

  • @rexlink1 virtually impossible. It is best to use a high hatch rate a brine shirmp. THis will help eliminate the shells sinking to the bottom with the brine shrimp.

  • Thanks for the video, it makes this simple to do!

  • when u wanna change the water do u use salt?

  • @ProWilsonTan yes.

  • what happens if u dont use salt and hatch the brine ship in fighting fish water?

  • @ProWilsonTan Brine shrimp will need a salt solution to hatch well.

  • is it normal for when it is going for close to 24 hours and it to be bubbling? like foam or soap?

  • @rexlink1 Depends on the brand (some processing companies include an additive that may bubble...or it may mean unclean or poor hatch rate egg.

  • hey can you use a large bowl instead the bowl holds 1 and a half liters of water would it work i feel like it doesnt make all of the eggs move.

  • wow imagine dumping all those eggs into a pool that has the equal solution! You would have a colony of brine shrimp. Lol jk

  • Thank you, very useful :)

  • can you use aquarium salt?

  • Where do you buy your eggs?

  • is sea salt good

  • @calirapqueen from what I've heard, some salt can be beneficial to fish by relieving stress and such but I've only seen examples with aquarium salt so just regular salt is still in question for me.. hope this helps

  • @dragontmp44 any salt without iodine is fine for aquariums. i use kosher salt

  • If you would like to raise the shrimp untill they are adults should you feep the air on? or do you only do that during hatching?

  • Those poor sea monkies! :o :p

  • Do you double the ingredients for a 2liter hatchery?

    Need replied ASAP!

  • can you get the brine shrimp eggs from any pet shop

  • You the man. Followed it and 24 hour later witch is right now I have thousands of baby brine shrimps. This is definitely hatching brine shrimps for dummies, lol. If I can do it, anybody can following ur instructions. Once again, you are the man

  • Great vid man. I have used the steps you presented here and our brine shrimp hatchery has been feeding our African Cichlids till their bellies are fat and round. Thanks for the video, it worked great. From all of us at tankdwellersdotcom, thanks

  • can you keep ones like this as pets

  • Hello, I would like to ask if you use the warm tap water or it's aged tap water. pls repy. Thank you very much

  • Hey that was really cool man thanks for sharing that. I just got a can of eggs and I have some small fry to feed. I knew it would be on youtube so thanks for the help.

  • Comment removed

  • This has to be the simplest and clearest how-to I've watched as of yet. Thank you for your time, effort and information!

  • What a great vid! Thanks so much. I will be using this method to feed my Krib and Convict fry when they hatch!

  • Do i need to rinse out the brine shrimp before feeding them to my freshwater fish? And what do you feed them??

  • Can I use my salt water aquarium water as the solution to hatch the eggs? PH 8.3, salinity 1.025

  • Okay, I favorited this video, because it's extremely explanatory, however I still have some questions:

1: What PSI should the pump be? would 8-12 be okay? (if not I have another one that's weaker)

2: Where can I get the eggs?

3: should I use a heat lamp, or would a regular desk lamp work (What one is healthier?)

I'm planning on breeding my Betta, so I want to make sure that the food is healthy to keep the fry healthy

  • How much does this cost?

  • Um, I'm getting these for my turtles. Would they eat them too? RED EARED SLIDERS.

  • the one i got is 25% less sodium than table salt. can i still use it ?

    please reply

  • after 1 day i remove all the air pump?? and not put it again there??

  • whats a fry???

  • @narahalo97 fry is like newborn fishes

  • @narahalo97 When small fish first hatch from their eggs, they are larvae or wrigglers. Then, when they have absorbed their yolk sacs, they become free-swimming fry. The young of livebearing fishes pass through the larval stage before they are born, so they are born as free-swimming fry. Hope this helps.

  • Thanks, man!

Very helpful... Now I can try hatching my ebay killifish !!

BTW does anyone know how to do this??

  • Niceee! Thanks for this great video i will definitivly buy myself a air pump and eggs my fish will love new live food and this looks so much fun

  • 1 question... why not use an airstone?

  • @WTFsia92

An airstone would work fine as long as it can fit at the narrowest (bottom) part of the hatching container.

  • @WTFsia92 there is a reason you shouldnt use an airstone. i remember reading something about if the airbubbles are too small they can get caught on the brine shrimp and kill them.

  • do i hav to use a salt water /baking soda solution, or is it possible in fresh water?

  • SEA MONKEYYYYSSS!!!!!!!!!

  • What kind of air pump do you use? And how much does it cost?

  • @wolfehead just the cheapest you can find at your local pet or super store.

  • One of the best ever "how to " I have ever seen. Clear concise and no bullshine

  • @padanto1 Thanks..

  • can i feed my betta fry freeze dried brine shrimp? instead of live ones?

  • So expensive, it is possible to breed our own, they are mature are 3 weeks!?

  • Can you use a heat pack to keep them warm?

  • and just feed them with melted yeast

  • if you want audlt brine shrimp hatch the eggs then leave them for 3weeks there adult brines

  • your hand must've been cravin some brine shrimp lol

  • @mrkanker1

Everyone uses the narrow bottom. I'm only guessing that it's as they can all collect in one place at bottom.

  • @walsallcrew You use a norrow bottom because as the air moves the brine shrimp eggs you do not want any "corners" where some cysts may not get moved from the aeration.

  • Oh wow my Brine shrimps are hatching in 2 hours o3o

  • Brine Shrimp eggs are expensive but you only use a small amount each time so they last ages.

I would consider feeding them on live plankton or possibly plankton fertilizer (preferably f2 if available)

  • when the baby brine shrimp hatched, how long does it lives in the bottle?if we do not feed em..and when they hatched,do we still need to use the air filter?

  • where did u buy ur brine shrimp eggs in that type of container from thanx

  • what do would you feed the brine shrimp?

would you have to clean the container out ?

  • where do you get the brine shrimp eggs? the one i see on ebay are pretty expensive

  • great tip with the straw harvesting !

  • hii i got a quiestion > is it ok if i use a glass jar? and how do i feed them to my fishes dont i have to rinse them or something?

  • Why did you get your brine shrimp eggs? You got so many.

  • why dont you just cut the top of the bottle off..

  • I made an order 9 days ago... Still haven't gotten it.

  • @VolkswagOwned I hope you recieve your order. I do not sale anything of such nature. You should contact who you ordered (whatever you ordered) from.

  • and do they need dechlorinated water?

  • @lfclikewalfc I just use tap water.

  • hi would the light not melt the bottle and catch fire? as they get very hot

  • @lfclikewalfc I have always been okay...however if you are concerned about heat from the light use an aquaium heater, and at least 2000 lux of light.

  • i dont understand why so many comments of people growing them out. they are best when first hatched and they still have the egg sack still attached. good video . you need to let you viewers know that the fresh hatched are best for anything eating them

  • @MrBostonJoey I agree 100%...freshly hatched brine shrimp beat adult brine shrimp for feed hands down. I have tried to tell people that, but they still want to grow them to adulthood!??!?! Thanks for the comment.

  • Thank you for the video. Nicely done and very clear. I appreciate it. I plan to try to get the shrimp to adult size.

  • @mopbrothers THANKS!!!

  • Where did you buy the eggs? Please answer!!

  • @DoggaLova I recommend Aquabid or Ebay. Good luck.

  • I'm not sure a tablespoon of non-iodized salt would have a mass of 25 grams. Are you sure you didn't mean 2.5 grams?

    Thanks for the video, dude.

  • @CancaoDoDragao22 Try it...one heaping tablespoon is pretty darn close to 25 Grams.

  • dude, baking soda is used to make ph level betteR?

  • @fvang199 Baking soda makes it a buffer solution, which stabilizes the pH. In other words, yes.

  • @CancaoDoDragao22 kool thanks man, i've been mixing like concentrated water with tape water to try to make the ph rise to a 7.0 ph this whole time.

  • @fvang199 yep.

  • wow i like how your tutorial i think i going to need to do that for my fry than because i never know how to make fry shrimp until now that is hella tight so where do you know where to go buy those shrimp at anyways like just a jar so you can home made by yourself

  • @thaosta92 ebay

  • @thaosta92 i recommend aquabid or ebay.

  • can baby fry eat these during their first week of free swimming?

  • @doodoomofo yep.

  • can i just get water from my aquarium instead of getting tap and putting in baking soda?

  • @Lesteromeo You could try it...however I believe the salt content in the hatching video is much higher that the average aquarium.

  • Great Video

  • Great video, I too have made my own tutorial on how to make your own brine shrimp hatchery.

This video is informative and it is simple to follow. Thanks for sharing.

  • NO they r MY sea monkeys!!!

  • @choj5508 brine shrimp only survive for about 24 hours (1 day). Any longer than that and they'll die naturally, so I suggest only hatching as many as you need for one feeding session.

@KengThor14 no you don't NEED baking soda; that's just to make your shrimp hatch faster.

  • Hey thanks for the tutorial!

I was wondering if baking soda is necessary?

  • @Sakokuruto It is not necessary...however it would be good to know where your waters pH is.

  • were can you buy the eggs

  • @TheSapple I recommend ebay or aquabid.

  • Can you use 1 two litre bottle and baking powder??? oh and can you feed it to freshwater fish

  • Can you use 1 two litre bottle and baking powder???

  • can you feed them to freash water fish?

  • @MrWombatX Yes!

  • do u need baking soda?

  • how do u keep the brine shrimp to survive.....cuz i took my out and most of them died the next day?????pls let me knw u guys do it

  • Thanks for the tutorial! I tried to feed a few little newly hatched babies to my adult bettas but they didn't even see them :-( Can I just let them grow out in the bottle? I have yeast to feed them.. do you have any idea how much???

  • Aquarium salt is ok or is it not... i thght it is ok...???

  • Where I live is hot at the moment and I can't keep my water below 32*C. Will they hatch at all at this temperature or would I just be wasting my time? thanks

  • hey my fry betta fish are eating

  • Is aquarium salt good for hatching brine shrimp??? like the one when you google "aquarium salt" and its usually in a blue house looking box...

  • I have been wondering what to feed these BBS. I have a few guppies that are very picky eaters when it comes to dry food but they love live food. I want to raise these shrimp to adulthood but it seems like it will take a separate tank in itself to do this. Is there a different option? If you do raise them to adulthood then what do you feed them? I cannot get my hands on spirulina algae (besides maybe what are in algae wafers or flake food) so is there another option? Thanks!

  • where can i brine shrimp eggs?

  • it wrks! thanks

  • ok thank you so much 4 ur help

  • How do you make them grow to adults?

i finally got hold of some on ebay for a good price and they died a day after they'd been alive!...how do i keep them alive and grow them?

    thanks

  • @ClaudeyBoy acutally forget that, becuase iv just seen a comment below explaining wat to do...but thanks

  • Comment removed

  • Just wanted to mention that adult fish would really prefer adult brine shrimp, so after the straw method is used instead of going directly to your fish tank with them, place them in a seperate tank (At least 10gal) with good circulation and a sponge filter and the standard amount of salt per 10 gal. and feed them wheat flour or yeast! They'll get rather large after 2-3 weeks, then use a (brine shrimp net) to collect them, put them in a cup of water from your FISH tank, then dump the cup in tank.

  • @AquaManifesto How much salt? Do brine shrimp live in salt water?

  • @MyFishCare101 You would want 20 ppt or is you use a hydrometer 1.020. Yes brine shrimp live in bodies of salt water, such as The Great Salt Lake, Utah.

  • great video!

  • ive tries like 6 times now....nothing works. They just wont hatch.

  • @ChrisH11515 You could have an old batch, or one that was not stored properly.

  • How long will the shrimp keep?

  • @brandnewdoug Nauplii or baby brine shrimp will survive about 3-4 days.

  • arnt they just less expencive sea monkeys

  • @godeyesale yup!

  • @godeyesale You mean aren't sea monkeys just more expensive brine shrimp? XD

  • Can I hatch brine shrimp, and then feed them to my fish in my saltwater tank?I heard that the water, brine shrimp and eggs can carry nasty bacteria that will kill my saltwater fish?

  • @the55gal Good question. The companies that process and package the brine shrimp eggs are inspected by the USDA and are required to disinfect the egg. Therefore the egg is usually very clean if it is of the Great Salt Lake origin. The only contaminates or bacteria would be from one’s own hatching process...or foreign egg.

  • sirpau1 omg i would so buy it from you

  • I have the same pump :) $10.

  • do i need a air pump an i have an adult maile betta fish, Is it good food for him and how many straw fulls will i need for a meal for him thanks

  • Is it okay to use Morton table salt as LONG it doesnt supply iodine

  • @kenny123663 Yes!

  • how much would a tub like that be? and where can i buy one in the UK? Thanks

  • @ClaudeyBoy Prices vary depending on hatch-out rates. Online is usually the best if you are in the UK...try aquabid.com.

  • would brine shrimp be good for guppies

  • @818mrAlkash excellent for guppies!

  • I think you might want to make your finger wet and keep the pipe vertical, when you're harvesting, then it might not drip out that much

How long they'll survive without food? and if fed, how big will they grow? For example, if I'd like to feed them to smaller grown fish, like tetras...

  • @pusapoiss Thanks for the suggestion. BBS will only survive 3-4 days without food...during these 3-4 days they are living off their yolk reserves. That is why BBS are better to use as feed immediately versus adulthood. Adult brine shrimp typically will reach 10mm in about 2 weeks.

  • can i use aquarium salt instead of non-iodized

  • @cjimpa yes.

  • will the amount of salt water in the straw have any affect on the fish fry that live in non-saltwater?

  • @DC081892 No...they amount of salt water is tiny compared the the fresh water in your tank. I feed mine the salt water all the time. If you are nervous you could always rinse with fresh water via the coffee filter.

  • once the brine shrimp hatched do I need to turn off my air pump?

  • @rebelporro To harvest the brine shrimp yes, turn off your air pump and they will all sink to the bottom...however they will die within hours withour air as they are all packed into the bottome of the hatching cone.

  • is baking powder same as baking soda?

  • where do I get a that bottle of brine shrimps?

  • Nice video, thanks, just a question i have 2 convict cichlids a breeding pair, after they have their fry how long after they hatch should i start feeding them? i was told that they will eat there sack thing for a few days

  • this is a great instructional video. Thank you for taking the time to doit. I follow your instructions and it work very good. Know I have a question, my bbs are only living about 2 day after hatch, was wondering if you know a way to keep them alive longer. Im keeping the air on the bottle all the time, except when im harvesing some to feed my fish.

  • @crgonzalez08 It is very time consuming and basically not worth it. I will see if I can creat another tutuorial to raise them to adulthood. It may take me a while.

  • I'm not feeding my sea monkeys to other fish. Their my pets....noway

  • @kittkatt032 LOL!!!

  • Can my adult betta males eat brine shrimp?

  • @Brian567899 You bet.

  • i have the same setup as you but they wont hatch help plz PS: im using iodized salt does it matter

  • @timp01081995 Non-iodized salt is the best. You may also have a old or poor batch of egg.

  • @timp01081995 There are many variables that could cause this. I would for sure start with the salt...do not use Iodized Salt.

  • i have the same setup as you but my brine shrimp wont hatch

  • i subbed !

  • want brine shrimp that hatch? buy sea monkeys.

  • YOU DROPPED SOME EGGS PICK UP ONE BY ONE OF THOSE POOR THINGS NOW!!!!!

  • You sound tired :(

Thank you for the vidoe :)

  • I meant brine shrimp eggs where can I get them

  • @archrom1 I would check online...ebay or aquabid.

  • Please respond where can I get brine shrimp

  • @archrom1 Some pet stores carry the eggs. You can try looking at a pets mart if you have one in your area or a discount pets.

  • great! thanks!
