  • Some nice Ninja Tune and Aphex Ambient Works patches there

  • THE MOST IMPRESSIVE DEMO IN MY LIFE OF THIS INSTRUMENT.. GENIOUS OF EDITING ON THIS MACHINE..THANKS, P. ESOM

  • Very nice, thanks for posting!

  • Sound at 4:05 is awesome.

  • 1:24 I approve this very much.

  • what pitch shifter do you use, sir?

  • I love this demo, my most favorite one of yours, the sounds at 1:24, 3:00, 0:00, 0:43, 2:13 and 4:01 are my favorites

  • I think this is Moog's most amazing synth. I wish the slim phatty had these sounds as well. So cosmic and different from everything else...

  • tired of asking this cuz nobody puts it in the description but what year was this synth made? I love this little thing I love the sound @ 1:24 very nice

  • Can you make a brief album, or zip file filled with some of your pieces on the Moog Source. I would love to hear some of these.

  • @Gmancrap soundcloud / calvincardioid / sets / vintage-moog-source-demos

this is all i have now, because the machine is long gone.

  • Lovely. FX are sweet.

  • This video should have been called FX magic rather than Moog Source magic.

Take away the reverb, the pitch shifting, and delay effects and that would have sounded much less impressive. Yes the Source sounds good, but not how you've just heard in this demo.

  • @AlainHubert You, sir, clearly do not believe in magic. :)

  • @cl516

You're right. I don't believe in outrageous effects magic. I do believe in pure analog music synthesizer magic though. That's why I own a vintage Minimoog (and a few others too). As far as the Source sound is concerned, it can be compared to a Prodigy or an MG-1 (Rogue) and those have something the Source lacks: instantaneous multiple real-time knob tweaking experience.

But I must admit that the sound quality of this demo was great, and is a relief from all the awful sounding ones.

    ;o)

  • @AlainHubert No way... the source is the second best sounding Moog next to the Mini/memory... comparing it to the Rogue or even Prodigy is offensive to my Source loving ears :D

  • @cl516 well said my friend...this is the best demo of The Source...I own one and this blows me away...just doing basses myself but hey it is soooo versatile as I can see...

  • fantastic !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dear poster of this vid.. would you be so kind to explain the polyphonic passages? Are u using a pitch plugin or whatever? Kind regards...

  • @datisookzo Yep, many FX. :)

  • I would love to get the settings for these sounds, specially the first and second!

  • Excellent examples, man! I'm getting one in a few days... ;-)

  • sounds liek a crt monitor displaying windows 95 in a 2 dimensional portal.

  • He's running it thru an EVENTIDE!!!!!!!!

  • Hello, I have a Source too but it has a problem, the oscillator 2 can't be tune correctly to oscillator 1. Let's say you tune osc 2 in unison in the middle G key, well when that ley is perfectly in tune the pitch drits in the other keys and it gets worst the farer you are from the G key, do you know something that can help me? my tech couldn't help. Thanks

  • @marsupialmicron You need to tune the oscillators, I don't know how that is done on the source, but on many analogue synths there is something called p.scale which let's you tune the distance between the notes (the way the oscillators respond to the keys). I had the same problem on one of my synths, and that fixed it.

  • does anybody know what kind of waveform is being used at 0:47 and whether or not that sound is exclusive to this keyboard.damn that sounds dope

  • I am non musician but interested in istrument. I 've learnt that this instrument was very neglected. Any particular reason?

  • of all the moogs there is, ive only tried the minimoog myself.

butfrom what ive heard on demos and songs i belive the source is the best sounding one.

  • 2:43 please.. Such a great open SINGLE note!! I'm pretty sure the pitchshifter is doing a great role here. As with reverb. It's all about efx trickery

  • it would be cool to have a touch screen keyboard

  • Pure awesomeness!

  • Very nice demonstration !!! have you use FX ?

  • *_*

  • Absolutely great!!

    What effects did you use?

  • NICE !

  • The source is just so cool looking, and you sure showed it's cool sounding too.

  • this all sounds veeeerrry much like yellow magic orchestra, which is most excellent.

  • @curebdc totaly agree!

YMO is one of my favorite synth band if its not THE most vavorite of all time!\

    sounds amazing!

  • What an awesome pad at 2:13. Good work!

  • `Great vid and sounds!,thanks and keep them coming!

  • All your videos are awesome. I like the fast preset switching at 1:55!

    Cheers

    Dennis

  • hey cl516, cluster here.. awesome video... sometimes it sounds liek it has a third VCO... is that self osc filter or something else?

    what's that beautiful stereo spill-over reverb you're using? ;)

  • @clusterchord1 3 osc's? i here at least four of them,.,, i you ask me,, this is not only one source...

  • Great great great !

  • that was great! nice programming! can you get a vintage 70's saw lead from that? something reminiscent of early jamiroquai albums maybe?

  • very cool demo!

  • very nice Source demo vid.

    great sounds!

  • Wow. Finally someone who knows how to program something interesting! I'm looking for a mono analog for bass and you definitely make me want the source!
