Both of these stories are so fucking awful. I still haven't been able to bring myself to watch the video of the woman being beaten yet. I'm going to wait until after finals so I can be in a time and place where I can fully emotionally process it. Ugh, so awful and disturbing.
Hey mainely! I don't comment on your videos regularly but with this I had too. I am truly disturbed and disgusted on many levels. As a person of color who is gay both of these accounts sends chills down my spine because it proves our society has a long way to go. We still need to educate more and do more so these situation won't happen. Humanity is fucked up and scary, I can only hope it gets better. Great video.

There is no room for these senseless acts of violence, the murders or the beatings...no room for hate.
Hi from Canada, this a a society issue, one for us all to be concern about. One with answers that cross many issue's. People not wanting to be or get involved is something I see in my country also. Like how you mention people's lack of a reaction to the beating, sad state for our world to be in. Acceptance is so needed, fear and hatred can be one in the same at times. Even though we have legal gay rights that the US doesn't have, we still get hatred also. This is an examlpe of the worst kind.
These things happen because they are *allowed* to happen.
It's only when the allies outside the LGBTQ community, and frankly those who don't consider themselves allies but believe in right and wrong, put their ethics into action.
It's allowed to happen because it happens to *them*. Problem is that *we* are *them*.
This is exactly why the lgbt community needs to be far more active in fighting for equality. We need to stop lying to ourselves that we are equal in this society.

(all have occured before) I am fem you would never know looking at me. I hate having to be less open about who I am. I had hoped to move and things would be better.
yeah... my family said the same to me as Felicia's family... we hate you because it reflects badly upon us and the military we represent. that's the most selfish thing to say.... to hate your own children or their partners or their gender or their partner's gender just because it "makes them look bad"

now for the second story.. i saw the video.. and i am SOOO fucking disgusted! so! and this video had me bawlin' (crying) so bad. it made me feel so sick, so mad, so angry... I don't even know what to say about that. but this made me exteremly upset.
For words right now. I hope one day everyone can come together and realize were all human. Being gay , lesbian or Trans it honestly shouldn't matter, its only a part of who we are it doesn't make up the whole person. I'm 22 and a very proud lesbian and that doesn't define who I am as a person. My heart hurts for everyone involved...Sorry to ramble but this subject just hurts my heart in so many ways.
The first time I heard about the McDonald's story today was when AJ from the beaver bunch posted on her personal site. Since then I've seen the video and it honestly broke my heart. Both of these storys have hurt my heart in ways that I cannot begin to describe. It's 2011 we shouldn't still be going through these things. Love is love no mater age race or gender. My prayers are with both family's. Idk how someone father could murder his own daughters partner, the person she loves. I'm at a loss
