I have always figured out that going backwards with a 4wd or front wheel drive makes it go better. The fact its a F350 makes it harder to go in the snow. Throw 1,000lbs in the bed and it will make the world of difference. The 350 is just so heavy it actually is too much weight in the front and it needs to have it evened out in the rear

backing up a hill will put the weight over the proper axles especially with a heavy diesel engine. idiots. besides, reverse is a much lower gear. we canucks know about driving in all conditions eh.

Damn right about having fun! Its a blast where I live.. I drive a lifted 4wd Ranger and we get close to 2-3 feet of snow at a time! Doesnt matter what truck you have, the only difference is whether you are locked in front or not.. front wheel lockers = ownage in snow! Sadly, I dont have them, but working my way up a hill in a foot of snow is fun, doesnt matter how long it takes ;)

It's the weight of that really heavy super duty that was holding him back. A Jeep Wrangler Rubicon would've made it up that a lot easier. 4k lbs is a lot easier to get up that hill than 7k lbs plus. Plus the Ford only has limited slip differentials. A Jeep Rubicon has lockers.

if he have tried it in reverse he would have made it at ones. even my suzuki baleno could have done that, i also live on top of a damn hill, in Norway, lots of snow, i hate it x)

Oh c'mon, use logic?? Pat was just having fun. Plus it's rare we need chains here. This is just the hill that goes up to his house and one other - so it's not like he couldn't park at the bottom and walk up if he didn't make it up. He did make it up just after I filmed this and he's mad I didn't film that because this video made him look like a "wuss" LOL

lol, damn he was so close to getting up. just for fun i would have taken a stab at it in my car even if its just a fwd mazda. i love seeing what it can and cant do, it wouldent have made it but would have been fun to see how far up i could have gone. wet snow over ice is a PITA. but great video.

A neighbour's kid tried to get up that hill in a BMW. Got stuck and backed the car up and ripped off the entire undercarriage of the car - that panel that goes all under the bottom :-0! Thanks for finally posting a realistic comment. All the other ones are from overtestosteroned guys claiming they could have made it UGG UGG!!!

Oh and this year we haven't gotten a flake. Sad :( We had a couple weeks of subfreezing temps but it was dry. Now it's too damn warm and raining :(

As much as you want to think so - NO it would not have. This hill is FAR steeper than it appears in this vid and had a thick layer of ice under the snow. You guys are so freaking funny about this video. Like it's a video of someone having erectile disfunction and you all have to comment on how it wouldn't happen to you. What a testosterone fest!

the tires are fine. it's the fact that the snow is packed out and you won't get any traction. gravel it. he needs lockers too. limited slip isn't doing him any favors.

@Ferretocious Lol. Not trying to be a part of this argument. But have you ever heard of Blizzak tire company?? I would look into it before you say the hill is too steep. :D I love those tires. They got me through Colorado in my 4wd no problem.

It's the weight of that really heavy super duty that was holding him back. A Jeep Wrangler Rubicon would've made it up that a lot easier. 4k lbs is a lot easier to get up that hill than 7k lbs plus. Plus the Ford only has limited slip differentials. A Jeep Rubicon has lockers.
