  • fake and extremely gay !!!

  • Thats really cool. My favorite lightning video on youtube

  • love that song :-)

  • Wow

  • maybe lightning is a portal to some where else if you see 0.50 you can sea some kind of a sea and every white line looks like a cloud 8)

  • Electrefying

  • I will admit you took a beautiful video of a lightning strike. You then you used some slow fade effect to fade it in frame by frame. I would love to see this video slowed down to 1% with all it's choppy edges.

  • Hi man! I dont know the song that is playing in the video but I liked it a lot...Do you know the name?

  • @aguiavelox /watch?v=MvFobM2ipJY that's the song video.

  • @aguiavelox "Yele" by Wyclef Jean

  • 0:19 PIKAAACHHUUUUUUUUUUU

  • According to Science, lightening strikes from the sky to the ground, then there is a followup strike from the ground to the sky in nearly the same place. You're arguing with science by calling this video fake... Have a wonderful time arguing your case;D

  • @hiptomyheart99 there are strikes of lighting that start at the ground tho. they are called upward strikes

  • hm mby i dont know much bout how lightning looks but this looks prty much fake to me cuz the light at the start goes from up to down and then up and down again

  • @sins56 true dat

  • I love all the comments insisting this video is fake, or still images fading, or even special effects. Have any of you even made it to the end of the video and seen the clip running at normal speed before it ends? Or have any of you looked at any of my other videos? No, you just go around slandering filmmakers hard work, when most of you don't even have any videos uploaded or ones of you playing video games. Trust me, if I was this good at special effects I wouldn't keep filming lightning!

  • @galebrett This looks exactly like the HAARP lightning storms that we have in Hawaii...did you have thunder? as with HAARP storms, there is usually no thunder....Try look up ....you tube Maui and Oahu lightning storm Feb 23 ...these are government made storms with chemtrails(check your sky) and the military machine.... That same night a church steeple was blown off on Oahu and the Earthquake had just happened in New Zealand... What in the world are they spraying? Angels don't play this HAARP

  • @galebrett I think it is A-mazing!! Great job!!!

  • @galebrett I think it is A-mazing!! Great job!!!

  • @galebrett

Few ways 2 deal w/ the stupid:

1: As the poet* sez, "Against stupidity, the gods themselves contend in vain."

    2: The avg IQ is 100 by definition. So 4 every 1 of u, there's either someone w/ a 70 (or less), or 2 ppl w/ 85s.

3: The less intelligent the ppl around u r, the more u can exploit them 4 yr benefit, if u r so inclined. (That's y Republicans do so well in the US)

Thanx 4 yr gt work; it is appreciated.

*Friedrich Schiller (of the "Ode to Joy" in Beethoven’s 9th).

  • @smartalek1 way to bring politics into everything. just like a democrat aways will.

  • @smartalek1 Your I.Q. must be around the 80's then.

Just spell out the words instead on replacing 'four' with '4', you lazy ass.

I see continuous spelling mistakes, punctuation displacements, and... No, I'm not being a Grammer Nazi, I'm just stating that explaining about I.Q.'s, then just being lazy with spelling is a bad way to go. haha

  • @galebrett It's clearly legit, to any of us who understand how a camera works. Keep up the good work!

  • @galebrett Dude, I loved the end! It was so fast I literally had to stop, and double take like ten times! haha

  • @galebrett I wanted to see actual slow motion, not some regular camera slideshow with after effects, thank you very much

  • fake

  • What the name of this song?

  • They're so beautiful.

  • whats song is in it video? sorry for bad english

    plese, thankx :) jajaja

  • That's special effects... The lightning "light explosion' is too regular

  • All Bullshit

  • @viperdan1234 lol I agree. Plus the lights that were results of the lightning looked like the work of either Vegas or After Effects. And you would need a camera with an unexplainable shutter speed

  • @Dinkzta - Since you seem to have some working knowledge of prosumer editing software, you should record some lightning and play around with slow motion. I think you will find this video very consistent with lightning recorded at 30fps, and then slowed to 1%.

This video is 1:31 in length. If we increased the speed 100X, you'll find the actual video used here was less than half a second in length.

If he was recording at 300fps, the video would look very different.

  • WOW

  • Pointless music..better with it muted.

  • I dont even think there is a camera which could record a lightning strike...

    Light/lightning travels at: 299 792 458 m / s

    or

    671000000 MPH.

I dont think we have that sort of technology yet.

even more so, neither do you

  • The last "strike" is definitely fake as it's EXACTLY the same as the first!!

  • @wgoddard1988

Ever heard of a return strike that is exactly what it is. lightening hits the ground then comes back off the ground back up the previous path.

  • @wgoddard1988 If you're talking about the end, that's the video replayed in normal speed.....

  • if u look at right corner up u can se a face :O

  • did that song say melee B.J.? O_O"

  • mother natures magic

  • Looks like a fake video no movement in lights... see urself

  • the lightning at 0:24 and 1:04 are the exact same... just saying

  • Slow Motion Video of a Multiple Tower Upward Lightning Flash on 6/16/10t< this one is pretty sick.

  • this is totally fake. look at the first strike and the last one.. same exact thing

  • Zeus Is On His Period LoL

  • Good work, I would like to see an extended version set to Explosions In The Sky.

  • thats a great catch ...nice

  • shit, it slideshow! >:(

  • At regular speed, it's very impressive. At 1% speed, it's absolutely brilliant. Nice work!

  • sooo cool ! :D

  • fake and gay

  • this sucks

  • starting at :10 That light looks EXTREMELY fake the way it fades in an out so perfectly. but the rest of it looks real

  • lightning goes ground upwards its been proven

  • wtf, at 0:50 it seems as if it actually goes up into the clouds... or maybe I am just insufficiently educated on lightnings.. :D

  • I just want to know why none of the buildings reflected the light.

  • one would thnk that with an initial strike things would settle down .. "the shows over" but no - it obvious the show has only begun. I've pondered over this question: "why is not a single event?" The charges should be dissipated - neutralized - grounded with the first blast - obviously not the case - and the action continues right from the same spot. Does it recharge or only partially discharge - what goes on? Complex physics at play - in a spectacular way. Thanks for sharin.

  • Great work. 5*

  • thanks! be sure to check out my latest lightning videos

  • i thought that light-time is about 0.001 sec. but if this video is in 0.01 speed we can obtain 0.01 sec... i think this video is a fake)

  • Although an initial "leader" bolt comes from the clouds to make contact with earth first, lightening actually strikes upwards!

  • Love that low bright bit at about 0:51

  • this is probably one of my favorite videos on the internet. i like how the strikes build up as they go along, climaxing with the last one when the entire sky lights up :)

  • Thank you very much!

  • cool man, dont listen to stupid comments

  • thanks! I try not to, but it's hard not to take offense when you've filmed something cool and people say it's fake with such certainty. Thanks for watching and the comment though!

  • KEWL !!!!

  • ...looks great to me...

  • Are you kidding? If you even made it to the end of the clip you would have seen the strike in normal speed. slow it down and you get that effect with consumer HD cameras.

  • the building rooftops in the foreground and other landmarks, the light levels on them dont even change when the lighting strikes. the rooftops should temporarily light up, and the buildings cast shadows. not seeing any of that. maybe the amount of internet video fakery these days has wharped my mind, but i'm going to compare it to other high speed camera shots.

  • its not even filmed with a high speed camera, its a sony HD SR12. Check out my other lightning videos and they all sort look like that.

  • Ahh. some cameras tend to radiate blurs of light from the origin of the light, and some cheaper camera's even get vertical streaks around the origins of the light. i'd say the cameras creating it's own interpretation of the lightning strike, where a high speed tells only the truth! haha

  • how is that ake you dumb sack of poo:)

  • ha thanks!

  • have you ever heard of super lightning that goes up from clouds to the sky and is like 10 times more powerful than regular lightning?

  • you are refering to sheet lightning, where it jumps between different cloud layers with different amounts of static charge. normally from the ground all you see is the clouds above flashing, and you cannot see an actual arc.

  • @techohead01 yeah thats it, thanks i had forgoten the name.

  • hm, doesnt lightning go upwards?

  • Lightning can go anywhere; ground to cloud, cloud to ground, cloud to cloud, etc. It sometimes comes from both cloud & ground and meets in the middle.

  • good

  • Graet job. I really like this clip.

  • wow is that at like 200fps?

  • nice!

  • Come on people...obviously you know nothing about lightning. This is NOT fake. Kudos to galebrett for contributing this and showing us the incredible power of lightning.

  • @Schmangy

It is fake, they were about 5 or 6 pics and they mixed them fading em in and out

watch this, and get your conclusions:

Slow Motion Video of a Multiple Tower Upward Lightning Flash on 6/16/10

  • @wotsup9oo It is not fake.

  • @Schmangy So he was able to make super high frame rates and 1% playback speed in Windows Movie Maker? Really?

  • @Dinkzta @Dinkzta Try final cut express Dink. StrikeRunners is 100% correct. I never claimed to be using a $100000 high-speed camera. I simply said it is lightning I filmed and slowed down to 1%. If any of you incredibly smart people claiming the video is fake ever made it to the end of the video, you would see the original clip at normal playback speed right before the video ends.

  • @galebrett Ooooohhhhhhhh... K sorry I'll take all that back. :P

  • yele by wyclef jean

  • whats that song called?
