  • I'm hoping someone can help me here. I'm 100% for this new infrastructure, but I was wondering: would you be able to remove and replace battery packs on all models of EV's as easily as this showed?

  • So where's the smokestack for the battery chargers?

  • @NickRoeder - There is no smokestack - Because if I owned one of these stations, I would have solar panels and wind turbines giving me free energy. Put that in your smokestack and smoke it. The only thing missing from this video is the soda fountain inside the store.

  • @orbfile Gonna have to have a good chunk of land or really efficient (non-existent) solar panels.

This is gonna be sweet when solar power is cheaper than gas.

  • @NickRoeder Solar power, hydrogen power, tidal power, wind power, nuclear power.

    There are plenty of alternatives.

  • I had this idea a couple years ago. I commented it to someone but was told it didnt seem like a practical/good idea, which discouraged me a bit (although it wasnt like I was going to do it right awaybut still). I guess it was not such a bad idea after all. Of course time will tell if the experiment will work or not.

I am unsure if the problem was not been able to present the idea well enough or trying to communicate it to the wrong person.

  • If the motherfucking government or oil companies shoot this down, I will fucking kick the shit out of them if I ever see them in person. Stupid, greedy, sleazy, cocksucking bitches run this world and we need to kick them the fuck out of their positions.

  • @jeffsandychelsea

Oh boy, those are harsh words. But in case it happens what you said don't forget about one thing...give them some ass-kicks with the best wishes from me. Thanks.

  • @jeffsandychelsea America can continue to drink oil for as long as they want. The rest of the world has already begun.

  • what if car would stop several cm forwards? will it be able to plug battery then?

  • Any one that thinks this dumb or do not support new technology are uneducated right wing crazy nazis. This is the greatest advancement in transportation weve ever seen and is the future if the gas companys dont flood money into shutting this project down.

  • @GrandmasterTrue

fascism comes from the left - Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Kim Il sung, Pol Pot, etc., were socialist or communists.

Learn the history! Read the book. Only gullible idiots read the NY times.

  • You're a fucking idiot, Neo. Nuclear weapons come from the earth, so explain how they cannot cause damage.

Go crawl back into your hole, you fucking white trash piece of shit.

  • Cows farting causes more pollution then cars do!!!

  • check your facts first

cattle are responsible for about 3.5% of US greenhouse gas emissions, on a CO2 equivalent basis. 12% of greenhouse gas emissions are CO2 emitted generating electricity,17% came from burning gasoline in cars and trucks.

    "Emissions of Greenhouse Gases

in the United States 2006" Energy Information Administration

Office of Integrated Analysis and Forecasting

    U.S. Department of Energy

  • I don't care what causes more pollution. Stuff that comes from the earth can't kill the earth. I just don't want pay $ to make a bunch of worthless sand niggers rich!!!

  • No one wants to answer the question of "What happens with these cars in traffic jams, when your doing 0 miles per hour sucking juice heating/cooling your car and listening to music" Will these cars have solar roofs on hard top cars? I don't see this car working for major citys with high traffic.

  • @NeoAltPower All electric cars use a seperate battery for running accesories just like a petrol car does. The drive train batteries won't use any power as they don't "idle". They turn on when you use them. Maybe power can be beamed in with an antenne like with a radio.

  • great what about mud that would jam everything up and ice and snow

  • @rainstormaeroponics They could add a car wash.

  • @3089280288 Y'know, small upkeep for cars can go an extremely long way. Making sure the tires are properly inflated, the enginge running well, etc. These small efficiency matters add up!

  • 道路にバッテリーを落としそうだな

  • How is this a meaningless demo. It takes less tan 2 minutes to complete the change. The electricity is generated by wind or solar and you buy power just like you buy cell phone minutes. It's brilliant actually. And if u don't believe that fossil fuels are non-renewable & getting scarce-you're just fooling yourself. We need all the innovation we can get to solve the energy problem in the world.

  • this is just another reason to develop the hydrogen fuel cell car. Who gave these people this money to do this meaningless demo?

  • Hydro fuel cell is good for areas near lots and lots of water, not the desert where water needs to be shipped in. Hydro Fuel cell w/ hybrid and all electric mode...... Perfect for Hawaii!!!

  • That's like saying gasoline is only good for people near lots and lots of oil? The most abundant element in the world is Hydrogen. We should be running cars on natural gas now too.

  • It takes too much time.

Who thinks the world is really running out of petroleum?

    Wake up people!

  • It's not we're running out it's that we have to start thinking about are future and environment we all don't want to end up like the dinosaurs

  • our "pollution" or contamination is not the cause for Global warming as everyone (the government) think it is. In fact... The CO2 produced by the humans is a REALLY tiny percent compared to other natural things... The earth itself produces co2 in big amounts which is the main cause of global warming.

The invention of "ELECTRIC CARS" will not make much difference...

  • its cheaper your us to car around do u like paying loads for fuel

    fuck the planet

  • Why empower thugs like Putin and Chavez and the terrorist supporters in the Middle East?

  • erm how long does it take to pump 60ltr in a car erm about the same time

  • I once saw a guy take 10 minutes to fill up his SUV, this only took 2 minutes. It really isn't that bad. And the best part is you don't have to leave your car!

  • what if someone damaged the battery packs, then they were given back to the station.

  • I would prefer just to own the pack that's in the car and charge it at home. Or when i'm out at a restaurant, mall, movies ext.

  • except if you run out of battery you have to get a new one because it takes a while for the battery to charge

  • Unless your using a standard 110 outlet it won't take longer than 3 hours to FULLY charge your battery pack. Everyday usuage won't need nearly that long of a time.

  • Cool idea, but $500,000 just to build the plant? How would any manufacture make money off that unless they charged like crazy for the replacement?

That would never work in the USA because our country is WAYYY too big. I'm convinced we would require over 1,000 stations to meet demands so that ALL drivers are within a reasonable distance to one and so that the lines aren't 20-cars long.

That calculates to $500M for all the stations, not to mention servicing/charging all the discharged packs...
