  • I already know all of this but its good to refresh your memory

  • Wrestling, Judo, Jujitsu, BJJ and all other ground/grappling should just unite because learning any one of these styles can increase your chance of survival on the ground. I just wish that there were two UFCs. One that lets you grapple and the other is all about flashy standing moves.

  • @GreenSpirit3 Two UFCs? That wouldn't make sense. There are two separate sports that represent those two styles of fighting. If you want pure grappling then watch Submission Grappling, like Abu Dhabi or NAGA tournaments. Or if you want to watch flashy and technical standup watch K-1 or other kickboxing videos. But both make the great sport of MMA together.

  • @GreenSpirit3 just watch international grappling competitions

  • I don't know what it is about takedowns, but when we practice these I don't get tired. Everything else I suck at

  • I do brazilian Jujitsu, and wrestling is awesome! There's kind of a battle going on between Jujitsu and wrestling which is better? BOTH are better. I have never been official trained in wrestling, but I've applied some techniques I learned here on youtube to my Jujitsu, I used the cradel on someone in Jujitsu to gain a better position, it was effective! Wrestling has much to offer, I WISH I had wrestled in High school now. I like it, it's not just brute force like I thought, it's nice.

  • @ChamorruWarrior Well look at GSP. Never wrestled in High School or College and hes considered one of the best wrestlers in his weight class. He loves wrestling and trains with the Canadian wrestling team. His single and double is amazing and he use his wrestling for control effectively. Im a black belt in Judo and drill the single, double, half, quarter, and 3-4 nelson...bodylock, armdrag, and hand fighting...and thats all you really need.from wrestling.Everything is hybrid anyway at this point

  • power almost mean nothing if u us all of it at once

  • Thanks for making this video, I am in my schools wrestleling team and I have missed a lot of things since I cant go to the whole practice, now I can see things I have missed

  • wouldn't the knee being on the ground reduce the power of the double leg take down?

  • @mboymanuel The knee is mostly to penetrate and to get low. Wrestling isn't all about power, technique beats power any day.

  • the blue shirt guy is doing it wrong yer supposed to have a straight posture otherwise they can sprawl and bring you down with them

  • @manoa343 yah i agree we just learned this on our 1st day of practice

  • I want to meet this guy at a Grapplers Tournament he sounds pretty legit...

  • @thebthull lol not necessarily. have you ever known what its like to be underneath the dominant pressure of a wrestler and having their shoulder or elbow driven straight down into your face? not fun. wrestling is an essential tool to any mma gameplan. no one knew chuck liddel was a wrestler in college for a while but you could tell when he rarely got taken down. a wrestler can put the fight where he wants it. if he wants to stand he wont go down, and vice versa

  • which takedown would you recommend if you are 42 kilogram?

  • @masih100 lol a light sparring partner

  • i throw... im to fat lol

  • I hit double legs and then switch it to a leg trip...

  • This in team quest gym ?

  • @jollywolly55 this is a HS gym

  • 2:22 .....sex.

  • I just got taught this in mma... lmao, i got raped so bad in training lol.

  • eh judo is better.lol

  • @Russrogers68 yeah but there aren't judo teams in high school and college

  • @RandomCrapTV01 haha i wish

  • nice revenge at the end lol

  • ive never done wrestling before, looking forward to my first class in an hours time hahah

  • @laubeatz My first class is in 11 hours :)

  • i do mma now and i didn't wrestle in high school, and to anyone who wants to do mma and is in high school DO WRESTLING WHILE YOU STILL CAN! IT IS THE BEST PART OF MMA AND IT WILL MAKE YOU A TANK WHEN YOU GO TO SPAR OR GRAPPLE WITH BJJ GUYS! WRESTLING IS THE MOST FUNDAMENTAL PART OF MMA IT WILL ALWAYS COME IN HANDY AND MAKE YOU MORE LIKELY TO COME OUT ON TOP (NO PUN INTENDED)

  • @MoPPsychotik im from uk wrestling not 2 good here but im good for some one in uk i find wrestling to be gr8 do wrestling then add judo then add jiujitsu that is the best way to go im a striker im more boxing mauy that some karate and teakwondo and 2ba i think ground game is much better my girlfirend is sick at jiujitsu and judo and good wrestling she schools me all the time lol

  • If you got taekwondo knowledge, you can pretty much counter every take down they do against you regardless of weight. It's all about balance.

  • @eljaytomas123 No, if you do tkd chances are you'll try to axe or tornado kick them right before they o goshi you straight into the ground. The only people that can hope to defend against a wrestler's takedowns are 1.) judokas or 2.) another wrestler. No exceptions.

  • @bjjalltheway1 or do both tkd and wrestling... :P

  • @eljaytomas123 ur stupid because most of that junk is probablly illegal

  • i just joined the wrestling team first time do it hurt when u get slammed im not scared im just asking

  • @TribalStudios1 doesnt realy matter if your new or not mostly just depends on how high you go in the air

  • @TribalStudios1 not realy depends how hard and how high u got crushed into the mat but im just sayin u really want to be the guy with the first takedown because if you dont usaully u lose unless u meant for him to cause ur a good defensive wrestler

  • The way it ended was classic, kinda gay, i mean i love wrestling, but the slow motion jump onto the kid was kinda gay, just sayin.....

  • audio cuts in and out

  • I'm joining my school team :D

  • @DontMessWithTexas12 Yea man, im looking into clubs. I'll probably end up waiting for the summer when i head to university to find a place to compete.

  • @DontMessWithTexas12 Haha sick, thanks man!

  • Hey, im 17, 135lbs, 5'10, and i'm thinking about getting in to wrestling. Ive been playing football and rugby for a few years, and have no problem competing with guys much heavier than me. Do i still have a chance at competing in wrestling at this age?

  • @Acres2 yes you have a great chance at it im 15 and weigh 182 pounds i wrestle for my school

  • @fxckyouuuu im 13 and in 6' 195 so ...

  • i do jiu jitsu and do you have any tips on takedowns so i dont get caught in a guillotine

  • @bjapan96 Do a judo sweep

  • @SomeKidNamedOmar same thing as a judo throw?

because everytime i get atleast 1 underhook the guy does a trip by putting his leg between mine and behind my left

    and throwing me

  • @bjapan96 Learn how to do an ouchi gari and I guarantee no one will learn to defend that bro. If he's tripping you then pull guard

  • @bjapan96 When u go for the take down keep ur back straight i.e don't bull rush. Once you take the leg or get close to the body plant your head in the mid section or leg to use it to push to the side you're going.

Keep everything tight and close and you they won't be able to get an arm in to guillotine you. Good luck.

  • @bjapan96 Just remembered another way, instead of following with an outside foot like the video at 0:45, wrap it around the other guy's lead leg and keep going forward basically tripping him onto his back, from there go to side control and work your game.

  • LOL 130lbs at his height....I wish I'd had the option of wrestling in highschool.

  • lmao whisper u fail

  • My names Kyle, and I Wrestle =D

  • @WhisperInTheWindMvz My name's Eduardo, and i don't give a fuck

  • @lalo24681 Then if you dont give a fuck why'd you take the time to read this then comment...Poor Mexican or whatever the hell you are..

  • @WhisperInTheWindMvz retarded?? i didn't know i wasnt gonna care before i read it. dumb ass think before you say something

  • @lalo24681 ?

Ok Well i don't talk to Noobs who have """"2"""" Subscribers

Your Channel is an Epic Fail :D

  • @WhisperInTheWindMvz oh wow arent you a loser. i don't really care abt my channel froot loop

  • @lalo24681 Lucky i don't know you, I'd kick Your ass =\

  • @WhisperInTheWindMvz oh arent i scared.

  • @lalo24681 Yep...

  • AWWW!

  • MMA training? lol fuckin wannabe

  • @baconat3r Leave him alone, unlike you, he actually has dreams

  • @baconat3r dude i bet ur a bitch in person and cant fight for shit. yea their are some wannabes for attention BUT not in my case. been training for 6 years and aint stoppin anytime soon.

  • Is it to late to start as a Sophomore?

  • @ChevyMan2195 nope its my first year as a sophomore. only advice i can tell you is start training now it will make the season that much easier especially the practices.

  • @ChevyMan2195 im in the same situation. Im a sophmore i play football and lacrosse and i want to take up wrestling? I think im just going to go for it.

  • legs, legs, LEGS, LatS, and NECK

  • Thumbs up if the audio SUCKZ!

  • @Miromen69 why the fuk do u want a thumbs up?

  • hey im gnna be a sophomore in high school this yr and im gnna join wrestling, prob is i suck at wrestling so if someone could msg me some tips about how to be a good wrestler. plz do itll help me alot and ill rlly appretiate it. thx

  • @eaglesfan1333

They'll teach you there man, don't worry about sucking everyones sucks to begin with.

  • @eaglesfan1333 have heart dude, thats won so much for me.

  • @eaglesfan1333 im a freshman and i just join wrestling dont worry they will teach u just pay attention and they told me wrestling is all about exploding

  • @eaglesfan1333 for JV wrestling.. high crotch, headlocks, and half nelsons are all you need to win. at least that's all i needed.... haha.

that's not really good advice actually.. but what you should do is just pick out a few moves that your coach teaches you that work for you, and that you like, and master those few moves. don't try to learn a bunch of different things. work on a few things that you like, and focus on executing those moves in a match.

    good luck to ya.

  • That guy is 130? no way, he looks bigger than that.

  • i made my school wrestling am 15 and in wrestling all we do i pullups and pushups

  • Wrestling take downs are cool!

  • Nice be using these at mma training

  • @deval1988 if you don't know these then you might as well give up.

  • @deval1988 Why does that have 32 thumbs?

  • @jasonohmad it dosnt..hahaha

  • @deval1988 Well the only problem using wrestling takedowns in mma is in wrestling they didnt demonstrate it that well but you are at a dramatic level change compared to stand up in mma so I would look into a judo or muay thai double leg instead

  • Wrestling takedowns work in MMA, they must be modified to avoid knees, but wrestling takedowns work. Pretty much everything from anything must be modified because there's all this new stuff to deal with. Like Muaythai, in MMA you probably will need to change your distance to avoid takedowns and boxing, distance and stance change to avoid kicks etc. Wrestling is a great sport, and will help you alot in a fight. If you can't ground fight, you're screwed.

  • @ChamorruWarrior Yeah haha thats about the same Idea I was going for with telling him, what I was saying is don't use this exact takedown in mma or youll get fucked lol

  • Are you Samoan by any chance???

  • is a forward trip legal?

  • @Melermometal I know right looks like your kicking the guy in the shins. They will call you on the move because it is potentially dangerous. lol.

  • @2:00 I thought you can't use your legs in a takedown/defense in wrestling.

  • @GodalonethroughQuran i unno i never did it in a match just practice

  • i hit singles...=D

  • lol, the double leg takedown looks like a professional wrestling spinebuster

  • lol youve lost your FUCKING MIND

  • haha keep clicking 0:39 its funny

  • ha ha ha ha

  • iam. 6foot 1, 280 pounds i go for waste locks

  • liar weight limits like 290 0r 80 i forget

  • @THEPIELORD42 wich part is a lie and oh did i say i still wrestling in school no.and the best way to counter this is a head lock

  • i love wrestling but im better at jiu jitsu, my friend went for a double leg and BOOM guillotine i love grappling

  • @sk8aperson me it do comes in handy for fights but i i like submison wrestling beter its like both wrestling and jiu jitsu u see most of the time in mma.

  • Same here. My friend is a 4 year wrestler in high school. Beat him 15 time in grappling, in a row. _GRAPPLING!!!_

  • @sk8aperson BJJ is awesome! Except it's always good to know some wrestling because wrestling has some sweet takedowns.

  • @Zeferak you wouldn't have to learn wrestling if you did judo instead of bjj

  • @fxckyouuuu

ill be honest, im 12 and only 125 with muscle (not massive) and im training with a ex muay thai fighter and a ex boxer, i figure out takedowns and bjj on the internet and practice on my homemade dummie

  • @fxckyouuuu its possible dude, tyson was that big at 13

  • @fxckyouuuu well you could but i dont think its very healthy

  • @fxckyouuuu If he is 13 and wieghs 207 pounds, most of it is Fat :). I'm 15 and weigh 171 pounds. I'm 9% body fat. it takes a long time to get just to my size.

  • im thinking of wrestling this year in highschool ill be a freshman and have never wrestled before. im 95lbs and 5 foot so other sports got tougher as everyone else got bigger haha. all of my uncles wrestled and i have a friend who is 110 and we wrestle eachother and i always pin him. i just need advice and what should i expect? please help

  • is ur frend an experienced wrestler?

  • kinda he wrestled for only a year or two but still he knew more than me. but he wasnt very determined or comitted.

  • o ur good then, junior and senior lightweights are pretty rare, just get ur ass in technique, lift a bit, and be way more aggressive and u'll do fine, chances are ur gonna go up against other inexperienced kids

  • ha, they dont even have a 95 weight class at my school, im a freshman too, im 121, im gonna try and get to 115 or maybe even 110, but after practice and what not, you and a friend take what you learned from the coach and practice it on each other, thats how i got the moves right

  • yea ill be in the 96 lbs weight class im doing p90x right now and am going to start rrunning more for endurance and start learning th eropes from a friend of mine's dad. (not the one i wrestled a different kid)

  • Sweet Great refresher!
