I'm 13, and my friends always find me weird for liking this kind of music. They're all over pop and such, and don't get me wrong, I have nothing against pop, listen to it occasionally, but I really just enjoy 70s - 80s music a lot more. Especially Pat, she's one of my favorites. :) Makes me kind of wish I was born back then, y'know? So I was able to grow up in such a seemingly awesome time period. Not just for music, but all around! :D

All the 80s playlists there: Ballads, Classics, Fem Rock/metal Origins, MTV, and Video 1 &2 are all the rage with the college and HS crowd and I was amazed at that. Its also amazing the so many older folks are getting into NIGHTWISH and similar bands.

Though it was cheesier than say, Top Gun, I seem to remember this song on the soundtrack. A plane (with a cute blond lady fighter pilot) had been shot down, and this song seems to correlate with that scene when the F14's were being scrambled to look for her.

Last I remember this song was from the series "Supercarrier" (used to be on ABC I think). Though the series was essentially a small screen version of Top Gun, I loved it. I wanted to be a fighter pilot back then...Anyway this scene was when one of the F14's were getting scrambled because a maritime patrol (P-3) plane had gone down..If anyone else remembers this series message me!

Neither is Moody Blues, Journey, Supertramp, Yes, any other prog rock band (includng Rush), and quite a few others. The hall of fame is a joke. They must be sponsored by MTV.

Way back in 85' when I as a kid I always knew this songs lyrics had a lot of meaning but it was hard to really "feel" that meaning. I just put the song in the context of it's either about events of the long gone past or far away future. Turns out that 'future' wasn't too far away after all. I'll tell ya what the 80s were for me....my fave bands overall were hard rock/metal bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Van Halen, Scorpions, Metallica, Aerosmith etc etc....but then I also enjoyed very much Pat Benatar, Heart(Ann and Nancy Wilson)...pop/rock bands like The Fixx, Simple Minds and The Outfield etc....
