It is just so sad whenever I heard he sings this song. It's painful watching this. Watching someone so hurt and in pain. Especially near the end where the crying gets worse and he starts flustering around with the mic.

To me it's totally obvious that he's crying. You can see his eyes fill up more with tears at around 1:22 to 1:24 or so. When he looks up you can see it. AND he wipes his eyes at the end of the song!
