  • Not ethical. Might be sorta legal, but skirting the fringe for sure. Easy to floss there. Sure, but its not cool to show that flossing is an "angling technique." I drift fish eggs everywhere it legal. None of those fish get flossed. If you were a proficient drift fisherman, you could feel, and see that. Dont kill dark fish on camera, makes you look desperate, or like a rookie. The fish had no nutritional value at that point with fungus starting to form on the tail, no excuses.

  • These idiots don't know between the silver and dark colors of the fish which makes them bite on different type of tackle because of the phase there are in..silver will still strike.. dark not so much..keep doing ur thang man..these haters don't know anything..

  • @whatsyours1

So the exterior color(carotenoid pigment transfer) of the fish is what determines if it will bite or not? Hmmm... You need to get out more, and educate yourself. Every colored up 20# Steelhead that ate a swung intruder was flossed, or snagged? Like I said... Get out more, and quit snaggin fish.

  • @Steeldeposit Salmon and steelhead are much different when discussing colors. You see, Steelhead return to the ocean after spawning. Salmon change colors, soawn then die. Um... a slight difference there buddy.

  • Any method which uses line the fish cannot see,at the same level as the fish's mouth,in a drift will floss fish.At least 50 % of fish caught in my local river are flossed, maybe 90%.You can bottom bounce, short float, fly fish, even a spinner if used in the zone.I even snagged about 50 fish this year with spinners and 12 # mono.It happens. Most fishermen are true sportsmen.Just obey your regulations, release gently those you do not want.Buy the licenses, support those hatcheries.Enjoy.

  • This is snagging. This is not even fishing..fuck anybody who snags like this. Don't call yourself a fisherman either

  • I have fished for years and wasnt cool with it for some time. Now im all for it. Most fish nowdays are hatchery and will go to waste anyway. Hatcheries usually get enough fish for egg take so why no floss the excess ? I would have still realeased it , pretty dark. But good vid !

  • @cobias Right on!

  • Hey everybody! It's Chum Lee from pawn stars! LMFAO

  • yeah i see the point of this vid but honestly chrome or not, fish bite. easier to floss them but often times dark fish will bite just as well as a bright one and sometimes chromers get lockjaw worst than anything. I have personally seen a king so dark it was white turn, swim six feet, and engulf a clump of eggs when it was 2 feet under the surface.

  • @TheFishmando The fish is picking up the eggs to move them. Not to eat them. You have to set the hook nice and hard when fishing with eggs... for some reason people call that acceptable when you "rip into the fish" with an egg and bobber, but it's "snagging" when you do so with a corky. Funny uh? The truth hurts.

  • @FreeFishingLessons ummmm. no. I have caught alot of kings with eggs swallowed really far down. some pick it up to move it. but some really want to eat. like really really far down swallow fest have to keep the king because its bleeding out.

  • @TheFishmando Very good! I'm glad you said "SOME really want to eat". The keyword is SOME. But MOST do not. Thank you for agreeing with me. I bet you "rip into the hook set" when you see that so called "bite" when your bobber goes under regardless. Right? Bobber Down = "Set the hook". Ever thought of that fish also being flossed with that presentation, especially drifting in the current? Hate to say it, but it happens.

  • @FreeFishingLessons Oh yeah! if your gonna set the hook, set it like a man! and yeah I usually let salmon and steelhead take my bait for a while when I feel the bite. If you floss a fish with a clump of eggs on it doesn't stay on because the eggs get in the way of the hook. Its not very hard to tell a floss vs a bite because with a bite you can feel em chewing and flossed its just deadweight with slight moving.

  • @freefishinglessons

Are you referring to those fish up at rivermill dam (where you were a flossing machine) as old and spawned out? If so, you're even dumber than I thought! Those are springers and you were there in summer, they spawn in the fall fool. And, by the way, I slay fish below that dam with bobber and eggs! No they aren't flossed either

  • @freefishinglessons

So when I'm backbouncing the Wilson river with a giant green corky followed up with an egg/shrimp combo and I feel tap tap tap chomp chomp rip rip and lay into the chrome chinook that has the rig in it's guts and is shitting blood, I've likely flossed it? Or, as you say most if the time it's flossed and some of the other times it bit?

  • @TheFishbonker You said "chromer"...try that on late season fish that is spawned out.... yes, more than likely flossed if its upriver and colored up dark. Chrome fish are another story. I use eggs too, with pretty good results on the those "chromers".

  • you dont need to floss. flossing is wrong. leaders more than 3 feet are wrong. and if all the ways of drifting gear is flossing and flossing is the only way to catch please explane flaot fishing. how does a vertically suspended offering floss a fish.

  • @CogInAVice Some fish do bite, especially fresh fish, but you would be surprised on how many are flossed even with a bobber. If you don't use enough weight and have a long line from your bobber, then you suddenly have a mean lean flossing machine and don't even know it. People get too defensive with this topic, and don't open their eyes to see what ALLOT of the fisherman are doing out there. Whether intentional or not....it still happens.

  • @CogInAVice Flossing is wrong, unless you fly fish.

  • a lot better than how i catch them some of you need to quit your bitching

  • good video. everyone dissing you is just jealous because you have accepted what you are doing to catch fish like the rest of us. tight lines!

  • 12 people don't know how to fish,lol :P

  • this makes me hungry for fish, lol, its been atleast 15 years since i've been to washington and fished, congrats on ur birthday fish and happy birthday :)

  • I'm just kidding, but it sounds funny...

  • Can we go fishing sometime? I'm gonna bring a 10 to 40 rod and cast a 4 ounce cannonball weight at your head, or use a corky rig and snag you in the mouth...

  • out of a king's mouth when it swallowed my puff ball with no scent on it. i guess you're right salmon don't bite... haha

  • yesterday i tried to take the hook out of the throat of a king my brother caught on the cowlitz using eggs. why don't you tell that fish that salmon aren't supposed to eat in rivers. and the day before that i pulled my 2/0 Gammy

  • Yesterday I tried to take a hook out of the throat of a king my

  • Hey man can I use this tecnique on rivers also can u upload a video about how you set the penzo alone with the weith and hook thank you

  • thats the only setup i use, works great, if its in their mouth of the game wardens will shut up then its cool. fishing is fishing, its acctually pretty hard to have a small peice of line hit a fish and in a split second have enough time to set the hook. flossing coho is fun because there hooked mouth is so damn big

  • wait i dont get it does the led act like a weight please respond

  • @rzyalik Weight just keeps it near the bottom....enough to let it drift in the current but keep it near the bottom

  • @FreeFishingLessons thanks, so the weight is about 5 ft up line after the corky

  • Ya no shit the end of the drift is when they follow ur cork and bait to the end and hammer the shit out of it. Not saying you wont line some especialy with your five foot floss leader but if you caught a shit load of fish then you know that what your saying is not comp true.

  • Make a trip to the upper rogue, above shady cove, I'll fish with ya. We have some pretty good end of the drift technique.

  • Wow, lots of these people have something up their ass. If a fish is going to die after spawning, which it is, why not catch it and eat it? He didn't foul hook it in the belly or tail, it was clearly in the lip or mouth once it got into the net. He checked if it was a hatchery fish or not, and acted accordingly. I read the entire video description, sounds like the veterans that do the same thing get mad cause he says it is more often than not, flossing. He didn't break any laws, so chill! =]

  • sucks to post a video and get hated on for no reason, i think these people should be happy that your at least being courtious enough to get hook in mouth oposed to the typical asian trebel hook method

  • and july 15 is my birthday

  • do u put bait on or just throw in the hook

  • maaannn i love snagging, i can't wait untill spring. what reminds me of snagging is at 1:10 , i love that sound of a solid hook!

  • you sound and look like chum lee off of pawn stars

  • @tacokiller101 lol I was thinking the exact same thing...

  • I wouldn't eat too much fish out of the rivers... it's probably contaminated with pollutants. I'd say become a vegetarian, but monsanto is making that difficult too. Vote democratic.

  • ive had numerous coho andf chhinook swallow my rig before.. there no "masking" it matters how you use it. i heard you are a regular up there late in the season to snag and harvest eggs from old springers. i agree with bumhunter you are a dipshit egg hound.

  • @slipknotbot sorry... I fish all around the US, so I never hang in one area for more than a few weeks at a time, I don't harvest salmon just for the eggs. And this is the one and ONLY time I used a corky to take a salmon. See my other videos. I made the video to prove a point, Your source is incorrect.

  • You are a dipshit..... Those salmon will bite shrimp and eggs.

  • @Bumhunter185 I didn't say they would NEVER bite eggs and shrimp. But I DID say eggs and shrimp on a CORKY RIG like the one in my video is just a ploy to disguise the truth behind what's more likely to be going on. Did you not also read the full description I posted underneath this video?

  • This guy is a dipshit..... Those salmon will bite shrimp and eggs.

  • What's sad is this is what makes up at least 25% of fisherman.. people like this guy. Snagging and flossing ruins good holes that can be productive when fished legally/ethically.

  • try setting the hook straight up and down next time and not casting straight upstrrsm, use yarn and scent next time and change your technique and the fish will bite not get flossed. if i EVER see you in the coastal oregon rivers doin that the sherriff will be on your ass in an instant and alot of people feel the same way ido about this, so dont expect to get away with it anymore the most legit way to fish a corkie is use it with yarn and scent or bait and plunk

  • @slipknotbot I'll fill you in on a little secret. This video was "edited" to provoke thought behind what's really happening under the surface. I understand the concept of yarn and scent. That is merely a means to "cover up" the truth behind the rig. It makes it "appear" that the salmon may actually be eating that yarn. Please read my detailed description under this video. Next, watch my other video, "How to Catch Chinook". You'll quickly see how editing affects the viewer's response.

  • try setting the hook straight up and down next time and not casting straight upstrrsm, use yarn and scent next time and change your technique and the fish will bite not get flossed. if i EVER see you in the coastal oregon rivers doin that the sherriff will be on your ass in an instant and alot of people feel the same way ido about this, so dont expect to get away with it anymore

  • your a dumbass, do you realize what could happen? if two people new to salmon or steelhead fishing took this advice and got a ticket..and a little kid lost his rod? how would that make you feel? quit teaching people how to floss and learn how to fish bro go tech people how to snag in alaska, they dont care up there i hope you get a ticket thta will teach ya

  • Comment removed

  • If you'd like to discuss this further I suggest sending me messages since I'm done responding to your video page. It is an important discusssion but not worthy of banter. I don't have an opinion on this matter since the law is very clear. The rules you can find on my site cover the entire US/Canada/United Kingdom. Fish On and Good Luck. TK

  • You can go to my site for a complete list of local authorities and fishing regulation rules. Overall, I'd say you have a great channel with a lot of good fishing information. I preach how to fish correctly and do that in all the videos outlining how to entice fish to bite using drift-fishing techniques. It's covered extensively in my books as well. I don't recall "trashing" on anyone. I simply restate laws that are in place to identify snagging techniques as poaching and poaching is illegal.

  • @TimothyKusherets Thanks for the posts Tim. I agree with you as well. As long as we are not actually "speaking out" then all is legit, and in your mind "legal". We all know how most salmon are hooked with a corky. Call it stupidity or "having balls" to tell the truth. It takes a lot of "smart wording" to "re-invent the wheel". Probing, gliding, drift fishing, and flossing are all synonymous when fishing a leader and corky. BUT, unless you actually see the "floss" then who really knows? ;)

  • @CanonDude07 I don't. The corky slides freely...

  • Zero skills whatsover you stupid snagger!!

  • @younewt69 I always look forward to another great negative comment! I especially love it when the person is 30 years old, can't express himself intelligently, and can't spell. Thanks for the fabulous comment!

  • In good shape? lol...

  • @fishingwithrod Yeah I know... I only had one day and one chance to get a fish, so any fish was in good shape for that time of year... it wasn't wasted either.

  • That fish was not in a good shape, not even close.

  • @fishingwithrod I know I know... I never claimed it to be a "prize"... although I did describe it as "pretty" good shape, as many people from around the world would be ecstatic to have any salmon at the end of their rod. I am just being optimistic. If you want to see some nice chrome fish, then check out my other salmon/steel head videos. Columbia River, Straight of Juan de Fuca, and Washugal River.... all bright fish! Fat too!

  • Aside number three: Don't pretend that its ok to kill fish because they are spawned out. That fish would have tasted like a wet sock. You must not catch many fish if you feel thats a good eater.

  • Aside number two: you do realize that using nylon landing nets (such as yours) are extremely harmful to any fish you plan on releasing. Yes you may have kept the fish in the video as it was a hatchery, but you didn't know that until you netted it. There is absolutely no reason for a net in the situation you were fishing.

  • @MrBiffchan Sorry man, I don't use nets. An unknown fisherman came up behind me and insisted on netting the fish. To tell you the truth, I wasn't paying attention to the type of net he had, nor can I tell for sure after watching the video.

  • Someone who's mantra is to pass on fishing lessons has the power to do a lot of good. Instead you're only contributing to the hoards of people like you who simply don't care.

As an aside: How do you feel the 'locals' who showed you this spot are going to feel once they see this video on the internet. I guarantee it won't be as tranquil the next time you go there.

  • People like you are a cancer to our fisheries.

You lack the ability, skill or desire to catch fish in a sporting method. All you care about is the instant gratification of catching fish. Try not to take this too personally as we were all there on day. Just do us all a favor and take the time to learn how to fish properly and stop spreading this crap on the internet.

  • @MrBiffchan Sorry it offends you. I have many videos... Many different techniques... Many skills... Many different fish... I do care... I know how to fish... I don't bad mouth people... I spread the love... I tell it how it is... You are quick to judge and full of negativity. I am sorry that you voice your negativity so eagerly when you could put forth the same energy into something positive. Can you see the glass half full instead of half empty???

  • Also, on a recent trip we were nailing dollies on spinners. In the same drift we had no idea there were salmon, we were chasing steelhead and while we landed at least 10 dollies out of this one hole. My buddy hooked a small salmon on a spinner, he then hooked another one that busted him off. The next cast I hooked the same coho that busted him off. Not a single fish out of that hole was hooked anywhere besides the mouth.

  • @tripleduboutdoors If you're not "trying to snag" fish, then you will almost exclusively hook them in the mouth. It's the guys "snatching their rod over and over" that foul hook them in other places than the mouth. Watch some videos of the Skokomish river. Salmon are taken here on corkys and are very acceptable among the community, as long as you are not abusing the rig. check out the videos...

  • @FreeFishingLessons I have seen enough videos, its not what is acceptable that is in question. It is that this video is not acceptable to me and the others hounding you on this. Change the title at least from "How To Catch Salmon" to "Flossing Salmon is Illegal - Tutorial On How Not To Fish." Either that or delete it, if you are trying to defend yourself by saying this is a tutorial to show what corkies are really doing.

  • So I have been listening to alot of the other guys on a board I visit. They are saying you are telling them salmon don't bite and that they are all flossed. This is completely untrue, maybe with a corkie they will be flossed. But when you have a coho hammer your spinner in a swing you will realize the difference.

  • @tripleduboutdoors No, thats not what I am saying. All of my comments clearly state "most salmon, upstream, and late season" are flossed whether it's intentional or not. And just because you put eggs or shrimp on a corky, doesn't mean they are biting it either. Don't get me wrong, some fish do bite, but many are unintentionally flossed. You know this too...

  • @FreeFishingLessons I do not know why you are acting as though you were trying to inform people in this video of poaching. At no point do you, the fish was terminal you flossed it, bonked it and broke the law. This happens all the time in terminal fisheries, and you would be hard pressed to find someone who fishes in Washington for salmon that hasn't used this method when they were just starting out. Most new salmon fishermen tend to be flossers til they realize what they are doing wrong.

  • @tripleduboutdoors There's no doubt aboout it. The tripdub has it right. Flossing is snagging and snagging is illegal.

  • @TimothyKusherets Tim, love your videos, love your channel, and love the way you drift fish with a corky and yarn. I can't believe you are trying to trash on me, when you are doing the same thing... You are the prime example of someone who capitalizes on flossing, but uses terminology and a variation of the technique to justify (or perhaps ignore) the fact that you are, according to your own words, "snagging". I'm not trying to start trouble, I am just exposing the truth.

  • @tripleduboutdoors There's no doubt aboout it. The tripdub has it right. Flossing is snagging and snagging is illegal.

  • @TimothyKusherets Read the full description under this video... I don't want to be a finger pointer, but as long as you're not "acknowledging" what's going on under the surface, then MANY fisherman either "turn their cheek" or just don't realize what's going on. NOT justifying it, I'm just speaking the truth. Check out this video and tell me what's going on, " TripleDub Fishing Episode 9 - Humpy Bonkfest" I like his videos! It's also cool that he doesn't get harassed... Thanks for your post.

  • @FreeFishingLessons I think the thing was, you made a video where you intentionally took a fish illegally. The difference with our video, is we did not promote snagging or flossing. We were not abusing the driftfishing method with super long leaders, and swing or sweep motions. If we were I promise we would have landed close to 300 fish that day between the 6 of us. Realizing how hard it is to tell how many fish actually take a corkie and yarn..even if scented.. I do not use them any longer.

  • @tripleduboutdoors The interesting thing is... As I look at this video again, and remember back to that very moment, there's actually more evidence in this video that the fish took the corky willfully than my "educated guess" of it being flossed. Let's have fun with this... because who REALLY knows? Now look these two facts:

    1. Hook was "inside the mouth" (point penetrated from inside and point out)

    2. Hook was on the side of the fish's mouth that would have been facing towards me

  • @FreeFishingLessons As I said before, with corkies it is very hard to tell how many fish take it willfully. Adding scent to a piece of yarn should increase willfull bites, I just don't fish this method anymore as I cannot justify it in my mind. My last trip I attempted to hook Chum with spinners with no bites, if I added a corkie and piece of lead I would have landed a few. Would they have been willfull? I doubt it. I've seen boots take eggs under a float willfully, did your fish? I don't know.

  • @FreeFishingLessons And if I remember correctly the problem with this video was admitting flossing for them and taking a presumably flossed fish and bonking it. And with the name Freefishinglessons and showing how to floss a salmon just seemed unethical. I have made videos of corkie fishing, and presumably a percentage of those fish were flossed. The difference was we were not promoting flossing, we were legitly fishing with corkies. Well as legit as a corkie can get.

  • @tripleduboutdoors Right on man. I agree with you 100%.(except for me being illegal) As I have been saying all along. I am being persecuted for speaking out. I'm just reiterating the truth behind it all. Such a touchy subject, and I appreciate the fact you are able to have an intelligent "debate" over the topic. I think it is a great topic, that many people avoid because they are afraid of what people might say about them. Many fisherman refer to a "floss" as a "bite" to avoid controversy.

  • You already admitted in the video that the fish isnt biting you stupid ass.

  • @bcdriftfisherman Never said they were biting to begin with. As I have been reiterating over and over, most fish in this situation don't eat your lure. Most fish are hooked in the mouth because the line passes through it whether you are doing it intentionally or not. Please read the threaded posts before making a comment that doesn't make sense...

  • Snagging, err I mean flossing, doesn't take any skill.

  • Hey everyone, thanks for all the comments and attention. I am showing you what is really happening when you use a corky. Corky's are commonly used to take fish in a legal manner. You CAN abuse them if you choose to. If you follow all the regulations, they are 100% legal. I am going to keep this video posted, because I know it is 100% legal. I am sorry if it disappoints some fisherman who now know what really occurs under the water! Watch my other salmon videos if you don't like this one!

  • @FreeFishingLessons How is it legal if the fish is snagged oops I mean flossed? So if anything you harvest snagged fish like the one from this video so you are a poacher. As for my other comment of how you admitted theyre not biting, what Im saying is that means theyre SNAGGED yet you say theyre legal fish. NO THEYRE NOT LEGAL AS THEY DID NOT BITE THE FRIGGING HOOK and I still stand by the stupid ass comment too :P

  • @bcdriftfisherman It's an educated guess they are not biting. Science helps me make that guess. It's called a hypothesis, Google it... an educated guess based on probability. I could have told everyone in the video that the fish ate my corky, but that would be ignorant. But, who really knows? I didn't foul hook a single fish that day except for the one that "ate" my corky. Maybe this salmon did eat the corky, as it was perfectly hooked in the mouth. Only the fish knows.... right?

  • @FreeFishingLessons A hypthesis is scientific and helps you make that GUESS? ROTFLMFAO wooooow I dont know what to say... Here is a definition though maybe you should read it!!!

HYPOTHESIS: a message expressing an opinion based on incomplete evidence; A supposition; a proposition or principle which is supposed or taken for granted, in order to draw a conclusion or inference for proof of the point in question; something not proved, but assumed for the purpose of argument.

  • @bcdriftfisherman Excellent.Thank you for posting the definition! The truth speaks for itself, and the definition helps support my theory, I owe you. Let's go fishing sometime! I'm sure we are both as passionate about the sport as anyone. I know we have more in common than you may think. I am passionate, and I think you are the same. Lots of love. Fish on!

  • @FreeFishingLessons Did you even read the definition? A hypothesis is basically an opinion which you try to prove using scientific data, so far youre still stuck with a thought while you think youre finished.

You wouldnt have a chance at hooking a fish where I fish, corkies just wouldnt cut it.

  • Wow, I am sorry if that fish meant something to you.

    1. Fish was snagged in the mouth.

    2. Should have been released, because it was foul hooked... and it would have done better providing nutrients to the river.

    3. You are educating fishermen how to illegally take fish.

    4. Someone will turn this into Fish and Game eventually.

    5. Sorry bro, it really makes me sad to see things like this when you can get out there and hook fish legally and in much better shape. Have fun, learn a new technique.

  • umm ya, it doesnt take alot of skill to legally hook a fish like that, (spawned out and dead) and as far as spinners, spoons and flies, you arent flossing for them when the fish swim out of there way to hit a lure. oh ya and dont use jig/bobber or egg/bobbers either cuz you are acually flossing when u use all that kinda gear,

i cant stand these 'gill pate forward and its legal" dumbasses

oh ya, nice subtle hook set ahahahahah

  • @lukelongaker How many Salmon have you actually SEEN under the water chase and strike a spinner, spoon or fly when casting from the shoreline, upriver, and late season? Thanks for the comment!

  • sad, sad. sad display... not very impressed.

  • @rdgurule Hey rdgurule.... you have a video on your channel using the same rig. What's the difference? I know the difference... I am explaining what's really happening, and you just don't know what's going on, yet you fish the same way and say "sad sad"? C'mon man....

  • @rdgurule

No kidding. It should be titled "how to snag a salmon.

  • @Blktailhunter53 Look around and see how many corkys are sold in every bait store in the Northwest. Stop fooling people, salmon don't commonly bite a corky late season. A lot of people do think that, until they watched this video! Sorry for the eye opening truth about a corky rig. If I didn't explain this method in detail, most people would have no clue, and there would be no comments on this video... BTW thanks for the attention!

  • @Blktailhunter53 Watch rdgurule's video on his home page. There is a video of a salmon being caught, proudly, with a corky rig! Hmmmmm... probably thought the Salmon ate the corky too....

  • at 23 seconds fish jumps right off his left ear

    anyways snagger

  • How to catch burned out, beat up, snagged salmon.

Not one thing here to be boasting of, let alone posting on Youtube.

Fish ate up just fine, eh?...............leeetle mushy?

  • @fishingjoe45 Look at my video where I fillet this same fish.... meat was a little light colored, but still cut pretty good. Still had color, and tasted fine smoked. Nothing went to waste. Also, watch this video, and you will see it got hooked in the mouth. No sight fishing, and no excessive "rod swinging", no snagging! Most fisherman just don't understand what is really happening under the water. If I didn't explain what was going on then most people would think the fish ate the corky. LOL

  • @FreeFishingLessons "Little light colored"?.........more like a swimming skid mark.

I understand exactly what the fuck is happening underwater. Snagging in the mouth, or in the fish's asshole, still are snagging.

If you want to give people lessons on how to catch fish, do it right, and post video of a decent looking fish. Leave the Eddie Murphy Salmon snagging to the trailer trash and the meth heads.

  • @fishingjoe45 Sorry it offends you, as I am not trying to promote anything unethical. It's more of an "eye opener" for those who don't know what's going on. I bet we have more in common than you think... there are no hard feelings from this end. Lots of love man... I respect your passion and love for the sport.

  • this is completely illegal

  • @SuperXmichaelx Please explain to us, so we know what not to do. How is this illegal? I am all ears...

  • @GreatLifeByLucinda its fowl hooking because the salmon is not BITING THE HOOK. the ONLY way its legal is if the salmon bites onto it. the reason why this is illegal is because the line is across the river the salmon swims into it and the hook get pulled into the salmons mouth

  • @SuperXmichaelx What I teach is what really happens much of the time, regardless of what you may "think" what happens under the water. Guess what? Most people who are throwing spoons, spinners and flies from the shoreline during late spawn are actually hooking fish in the mouth due to the line running through their mouth. So if you fish, and have ever caught a spawned out fish from the bank. Sorry, you "foul hooked it" according to you. But it's not a foul hooked fish if its in the mouth!

  • If you actually "read up on this", then you could at least spell "FOUL" the correct way! Please feel free to post your alleged "read up" and the reference source so we all can learn from your wise words. Thanks!

  • what every man this has gone to far i am just saying this is not a very sporty way of fishing and its snagging but what ever i didn't meant to cause a argument sorry for and troubles

  • @GreatLifeByLucinda also i live in bc in canada and the regulations state and i read up on this, this method of fishing is illegal and is classified as fowl hooking

  • Chinooks bite lures and roe and jigs, flossing is actually a snagging technique and not very sporting in clear water. Teaching others to floss/snag is not cool either and becoming quite a problem epidemic these days. AND this fish is in poor condition, skinny, dark and looks spawned out. Those are the facts from a pro guide. sorry to burst the bubble.

  • @SilversidesFishing Ah yes all very true! BUT first, this was not clear water and takes extreme skill to properly and legally take a fish like this, so it was very sporty. Second, you are correct about it being dark and spawned out, which it would die shortly on its own, which means there is no guilt in harvesting it. Would you rather see a nice chrome hen full of eggs killed instead? WE need to teach people both sides of the story and how to be responsible and ethical fisherman.

  • id love to fish the area again im in gresham so not to far .i might go checkit out
