All bad wrecks with a big rig the drivers all said the same thing ( I did all I could to go the other way, but the truck wouldn't turn ). @nguyenimproved Think of what would have happened if it werent there. Think of that tere are other vehicles than heave semi-trucks. But mainly think of the first one. It would have gotten straight through and that would've been much more horrible.
My friends and I were on the freeway at 3 or 4 am, the 10-E from LA, and saw a horrible crash. A guy smashed into a cement bridge support column. His car caught fire and he was unconscious. We stopped, pulled him out(not me, my friend), and called 911, then the guy came too and ran off because he was drunk. True story.

Unless you're a trained medical professional or already stopped, you're better off staying out of the way. Otherwise, you'll just risk getting hit or slowing down those who can really help.

@AshHill07 A friend of mine stopped to help a woman who was pinned in her car, but couldn't do anything to help her. In the end, his car, and others were blocking the way, trying to help. They all blocked the shoulder and delayed FD with hydroilic equippment. Even though his intentions were good, he ended up becoming part of the problem. So nobody is saying you're wrong for stopping. It is courageous to help others. But there are designated people working 24/7 so this doesn't have to happen.
@MusikAndLuv i heard all about this cars from my friend that was a horrible crash i would hate to go through that as your friend had. if you've seen the crash video in italy that ended up killing 7 ppl. my dad went through the hardship of that crash his great friend was the red truck driver who died after the white truck crashed head long with his truck. my dad still cant get over what happened.
@vulpalasar I've pulled up on traffic collisions like this in my personal vehicle, I always stop because I was trained as a combat medic during my enlistment, and have a fully stocked first aid kit and fire extinguisher in my car. So I can usually aide the victim(s) until the true professionals arrive

Thank God no one was directly behind him, so more people weren't hurt. And yeah it's sad no one on the right stopped, but there were a lot of witnesses on the left and maybe they had to catch a plane or something. You never know.

im not sure where this incident took place, but in australia if you witness an accident, you are LEGALLY required to wait for police to make a statement.
I just don't see how you can be that close to a wreck and not stop. Screw people and their, "I got to get to where I'm going." There's people dieing, but I'm sure if it happened to them, they'd expect angels to appear and save them.
Personally, in my view the first few drivers who drove past the crash without stopping to help - who almost certainly saw it happen and must know full well that people will be hurt, should be tracked down and arrested for criminal negligence. Many countries have "duty to rescue" and good samaritan laws that make it illegal to not help, and impossible for someone to be sued for doing something "wrong"...
about the cars that were behind the rig- not bothering to stop and give reports to police about what happened 100's of meters before that could give investigators some idea to the cause. blown tires, drunk, a deer, etc.
because eveyone is sue happy. you help and move someone the wrong way and break a bone or something, you all of a sudden owe thousands of dollars. not worth it IMO

Almost always, you must have a CPR First Aid ticket to touch anyone that may be injured.
Some places have laws requiring you to stop and offer help if you are certified.
Most places, you can if you want, or drive off if you want. Your choice.

@vulpalasar What do you think the hard shoulder is for? Its so the emergency services can get though even if the road is completely blocked. Its why it pisses me off when I see people using it to skip jams or stopping on it for no good reason. TBH if something like this happened infront of me I would have to stop. I couldn't live with myself if I drove on, especially if I thought there was something I could have done to help.

@AshHill07 A friend of mine stopped to help a woman who was pinned in her car, but couldn't do anything to help her. In the end, his car, and others were blocking the way, trying to help. They all blocked the shoulder and delayed FD with hydroilic equippment. Even though his intentions were good, he ended up becoming part of the problem. So nobody is saying you're wrong for stopping. It is courageous to help others. But there are designated people working 24/7 so this doesn't have to happen.

@MusikAndLuv i heard all about this cars from my friend that was a horrible crash i would hate to go through that as your friend had. if you've seen the crash video in italy that ended up killing 7 ppl. my dad went through the hardship of that crash his great friend was the red truck driver who died after the white truck crashed head long with his truck. my dad still cant get over what happened.

@vulpalasar I've pulled up on traffic collisions like this in my personal vehicle, I always stop because I was trained as a combat medic during my enlistment, and have a fully stocked first aid kit and fire extinguisher in my car. So I can usually aide the victim(s) until the true professionals arrive

u may think its crazy 2 drive past but seriously if u stop the traffic completely theres probably going to be an accident coming your way. Also your going to make it harder for rescue crews with the extra traffic.

Thank God no one was directly behind him, so more people weren't hurt. And yeah it's sad no one on the right stopped, but there were a lot of witnesses on the left and maybe they had to catch a plane or something. You never know.

Why should the people driving stop? So they can block more traffic? There were plenty of people running over from whatever was off to the right, anyways. And the left was blocked, those people might as well get out and help, though it looks like they sat on their asses... Oh well, emergency crews should be there soon.

I understand why ppl r angry when it seems ppl don't stop but the traffic can be problem, not everybody can stop they could have emergenceis at home, r look n the rear view & notice the ppl behind them r trying to get by maybe to pick up a sick child from school r maybe there child is having an asthma attack (true story) if everybody stay in the road how will the ambulance get through I think only emrgency personals & ppl who can really help & not just being nosey should help. (true experience)

How the hell do people just simply carry on driving...that vid gets my OMG rating for the day, not for the crash but for the shocking behaviour of those drivers. They should also be arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.

I just don't see how you can be that close to a wreck and not stop. Screw people and their, "I got to get to where I'm going." There's people dieing, but I'm sure if it happened to them, they'd expect angels to appear and save them.

Personally, in my view the first few drivers who drove past the crash without stopping to help - who almost certainly saw it happen and must know full well that people will be hurt, should be tracked down and arrested for criminal negligence. Many countries have "duty to rescue" and good samaritan laws that make it illegal to not help, and impossible for someone to be sued for doing something "wrong"...

about the cars that were behind the rig- not bothering to stop and give reports to police about what happened 100's of meters before that could give investigators some idea to the cause. blown tires, drunk, a deer, etc.
