I'm not sure but I think it's because he made a tiny mistake and couldn't get enough lift in his shot. Otherwise the goalie would have had no chance at all :D

I wish that the goalie didnt try to poke it away, he went down before datsyuk went to make the move so it isnt as sick as when Dat did it against dallas or nashville.  I love that move, I try to do, i spend so much time working on it and thinking about how he does it.

Datsyuk had luck, Hetényi(the hungarian goalie) was just 17yo, and he was close to catch the puck. But Kovács's goal was much more beautifull, the russian goalie had no chance.
