Man can not know everything by himself. He/she need guidance from a higher knowledge (God / ALLAH). I'm a Muslim, and in Islam, ALLAH after he created Adam, he immediately tought him the names of every thing. But the most important thing man / woman need to know is their true God / Creator, to worship him. And the only way to know the God, is by GOD / ALLAH explicitly declare HIMSELF to them as he is their GOD / Creator, and ask them to worship HIM, and he did that to Adam.

In a sense you are correct and in another sense you are not. You cannot know everything by yourself if you are merely evolving in this world, in the unconscious state of the regular human being, whose life and knowledge is based and regulated by information that comes from outisde himself. However, man can know everything by himself, if he empties himself of everything that he thinks he knows and allows the inner being to fill him up.

It's paradoxical that one who dwells in and speaks of eternity even wears a watch, so I think it's not a watch but a filtering device to sort those focused on exterior things from seekers of the interior message. I've read many negative comments on Osho, but this is just gossip. If "the guru cannot be found in his actions," I don't think you'll get his essential message from news stories.

@zzinglish53, I don't think his message is in any way effected by his wearing a watch. Reality is, those who attend to listen to his talks have lives. The filtering device is that people have places to go and things to do. Attending his lecture is but one thing on the list.
In this life, time does exist. If it didn't he wouldn't charge for his lectures, because capitalism is present too.

Hm, somewhere Kodo Sawaki said, that you can not free yourself - this was a misconcept based on Indish naturalism. And our man here is an Idian philosopher who became a great entertainer-guru, but if god is dead and Zen was the only truth now -> you can not free yourself only by yourself.
